Angela Merkel's shock admission that she wishes she could turn back the clock on her migrant policy is a clear attempt to mend fences with her allies in Bavaria and a strong hint she will seek to run for a fourth term as German chancellor.

“Throw the Bum out”
I agree with the statement with one minor change in the word starting with “b”.
What’s the German word for chutzpah?
They had a word for it, but they murdered everyone who would remember it.
I hope the Germans throw her out and elect someone who’ll reverse her policy of submission.
It makes you wonder that they’ve put up with her for so long.
Yeah, that woman’s got some nerve. Takes balls to do what she did and then say, “Well, I wish I could turn the clock back on my migrant policy.” Pure, unadulterated chutzpah!
“.....a strong hint she will seek to run for a fourth term as German chancellor.”
As arrogant as any Democrat in this country.
She’s like a doctor that cuts off the wrong arm and then tells the patirent that she has experience in cutting off arms and she is qualified to cut off the other arm.
Do you believe her? Or is she unhappy the plan’s hurting her where it hurts... her hold on power?
“I hope the Germans throw her out and elect someone wholl reverse her policy of submission.”
Germany needs their Trump too!
Who has the Bunker video of this?
How would Hitler react to such betrayal of the EU agenda?
I’d give it less than a ten-percent chance of happening.
But the issue revolves around who from within the party might be a good candidate. Wolfgang Schauble (the Finance Minister) would be a great choice, but he’s 74 right now and will retire next year. Maiziere, the interior minister, has said he wants to retire next year. Ursula von der Leyen (defense minister) would like to run but is a light-weight and won’t attract voters. Pete Altmier is Merkel’s chief of staff....he might do well but he’s been the person behind Merkel and the policies that she’s pushed, so zero chance the public would be that thrilled.
So after that, you start to drift to the second level. Because of this quality of candidate issue....without the CSU numbers figured into this...the CDU tally probably won’t go past 20-percent in the 2017 election. The comfort to this is that the SPD has a similar problem and that they will be very lucky to get near the 20-to-24 percent level.
If she admits her policies were mistaken, then the honorable thing for her to do would be to resign. And if she doesn’t, then the Germans should demand it. How can the report say her words indicate there is a strong possibility she will be running for a fourth term, when she admits her policies were a failure?
Cameron resigned when he lost out on Brexit. Eden resigned when his Suez policy collapsed. I don’t understand this German political process.
I doubt the CSU is going to be this easily placated.
