That doesn’t look good. It sure looks like they could have tased him... but they shot him instead.
Even if he was a dangerous guy, his hands were clearly up in the air.
I/m having a hard time seeing a justification for deadly force here.
It looks like they did tase him, which might have been ineffective, then they shot him.
Oh boy, this is the last thing that was needed right now, a real case of hands-up-don’t-shoot shot. A shot in the arm for lefties, who however, once they actually GET power, don’t really care that much about what the gendarmes shoot as long as it’s their enemies.
Politics alone will force this to go under a microscope.
I wonder why he was walking away from the police, toward what I assume is his car and then park it right at the driver door? It looks like his hands came down at that point.
If the cops don’t stop this stuff, they ( and the rest of us by extension) are going to be in for some tough times.
Good shoot, the suspect did not follow commands and was either was heading back to his vehicle or attempting to carjack someone else. Bottom line, you cannot allow the suspect to reach into a vehicle for a weapon or allow him to get back into a vehicle where he could wreck havoc.
Good shot.
Sky high on some forms of dope will do this. The question is what does one do with the untazeable that still has its hands up? When is an apparent surrender not a surrender? People are very chary about where this leads, for obvious reasons, and excuses won’t wear forever. At some point someone in sworn position of civil responsibility has to show chivalry, to take some kind of chance.
It looks like he brought his hands down right before he was shot. On top of that he was not following commands.
Attempting to carjack someone else?
This is inconsistent with the “hands up” report, and there are other reasons such as not speaking English or being deaf.
Reaching into the vehicle:
ID..?
Shotgun...?
Not good.
Looks like he lowered his right arm after he got to the side of the car. His left arm remained up, but his right arm reached down. Because the camera view rotates from one side of the car to the other, it’s difficult to determine what he was doing, or if he ever put his right arm back onto the car. I’ll withhold any comment until the facts are fully known.
His hands were in the air, but he was moving away from police and he reached into his vehicle.
One of these “don’t take a chance” shots.
As that increases, attention on the forms of training that increase it will increase too.
At some point “just trust us” will not fly.
Doesn’t matter what he was doing with his hands at that point. It appears they might have tased him first, then shot him. Suspect was not obeying commands, continued toward the driver side of the vehicle until he reached the driver door and or possibly an open window. At that point they had to drop him.
100% good shoot!
” At some point someone in sworn position of civil responsibility has to show chivalry, to take some kind of chance.”

Chivalry?
Take a chance???????
Nonsense.
