RNC chair Reince Priebus is facing backlash after suggesting that former Republican presidential hopefuls considering a 2020 White House bid may face challenges if they refuse to support Donald Trump.
People who agreed to support the nominee, that took part in our process, they used tools from the RNC, Priebus told John Dickerson CBS News Face the Nation. Those people need to get on board. And if theyre thinking theyre going to run again someday, I think were going to evaluate the process and I dont think its going to be easy for them
In a fiery rebuttal, John Weaver, chief strategist for former GOP presidential candidate and current Ohio Gov. John Kasich, slammed Priebus.

Kasich is irrellevant, at least in terms of keeping Trump from winning. Not saying he isn’t doing the things you claim, just saying it will have no impact.
If it can be shown any republican is taking money from Soros, knowingly.. directly or indirectly they should be booted from the party immediately.
This is actually very funny. Priebus has demanded that the RINO/Whig/GOP-e/etc. return the party loyalty they have demanded from conservatives all these years, and they are having an entitlement hissy-fit about it, like the snotty, vain and arrogant little girl who comes in second at the little girls beauty contest, so is red faced, stomping her feet and using bad language.
Just another indication that when Donald Trump is in charge of the party, a major purge is in order. Governing with party discipline is still hard; but when you have disloyal “back benchers” actively working to sabotage your agenda, it is near impossible.
Hopefully he will designate his VP to have the primary responsibility of purging the party, then severely purging the government. More than a full time job, and one that comes in with full force on day one in office.
The kasich “strategist” is obviously an incompetent loser. Look how far his various “strategies” got kasich. I laugh at these complete buffoons.
Never Trumpers vow to oppose The Donald whatever the consequences and then get angry at the notion that there might actually be consequences.
I was joking but he’s gone off the deep end!!
I live in Ohio and everyone I know detests Kasich. Of course I do NOT have liberal friends either.
In politics your word should be good. No crossing your fingers behind your back. If Kasich didn’t want to honor his word, he shouldn’t have stood on the stage and pledged his support.
But not just Kasich. There were a lot of morons on the stage with him who thought the pledge would only apply to Trump because in their judgment he couldn’t win. Well, he did, and they look like welshers to this Texan. I would never trust one of them again who went back on his word.
(by the way, Trump wasn’t even in my top three for the nomination, but I will vote for the person least likely to destroy American values via S.Ct. appointments. We can get over Trump, but not Hillary and the loony left.
