You’re claiming it’s corporate greed, but maybe it’s not as simple as that. Perhaps these companies are struggling to remain competitive. If that’s so—and many think that plays a major role—then what makes it so difficult to compete? American taxes and regulations.

Did you not read the article? "To deliver $500 million in savings, the vast majority by the end of 2017, we are restructuring many aspects of our business, including an accounting function..." So what regulations suddenly made it necessary for McDonalds to outsource it's accounting?

This is greed, nothing more and nothing less. The promise to cut costs so that their stock prices go up. If you honestly believe that ending regulations and eliminating corporate income taxes is going to end this then you are naive. Cut back on regulations and eliminate taxes and the corporations will love you for it...and will continue to outsource everything they can.

"This is greed, nothing more and nothing less."

Some people just aren't ever going to get it. There was essentially no regulation at all when companies paid employees in company scrip, forced them to live in a company house paying the company rent if they wanted a job, and purchasing everything at the company store. When the locals wouldn't work under those conditions the companies recruited people from Europe under false pretenses and never naturalized them so they were even more of a slave to the companies than locals had been.

Regulations are a factor, but they're not the primary factor whether the sort of people who would have worked for Baldwin-Felts willing to shoot amd kill anyone the company told them to want to admit that or not.

They wouldn't need $500 million in savings if they cut management, and corporate executive bonuses and perks; and maybe brought in new business.

Fast food used to be a rare treat for families; then it became the nutritional equivalent of putting kids in front of the TV for hours, or warehousing them in day care, while Mommy pursues her "Strong Independent Womyn" fantasy at her childrens' expense; but the birth rate in the US is plummeting, and old people who have lived on fast food are a self-limiting demographic.

Most modern corporations are fungi and parasitic invaders on the body politic and the culture.
