This would require a whopping 20% swing. McQueeg and Willard could barely pierce 30% in VT. If Trump wins VT early on Election Night, we won’t have to wait for any other state to declare him the national winner.
If The Donald wins VT, this will be a very, very short election night.
There might be a backlash against Hillary due to her stealing the nomination from Sanders.
Vermont was the worst state in 2004 and 2nd only to Obama’s homestate of Hawaii in the last 2 elections. Clinton was up 21 points in the most recent poll so I don’t know what the hell is up with this supposed poll with no margin.
It’s possible, perhaps even likely that Trump does better than the last 3 elections in such a rural White state. Perhaps it could even move out of the worst 5 (it was the 8th worst state by Bush% in 2000, a good year for VT Republicans who won the State House in reaction to the homo civil unions thing). But the chances of Trump winning I’d say are zero, Stein would need to be doing very very well.
If Vermont is within single digits on election night I’d advise the entire DNC to do the honorable thing and commit seppuku.
Don’t buy it. If Trump wins Vermont, then the whole West Coast would be possible too.
