Jimmy Fallon lost all credibility with Donald Trump interview (spittle alert)

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - If Jimmy Fallon had any credibility left as a thinking comedian with a point-of-view, he lost the last shred of it Thursday night. Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump appeared on "The Tonight Show" for a few minutes to talk up his campaign, in the midst of one of the mendacious and evasive 24-hour periods of his political career to date.

Yesterday, Trump ended a slimy two-day news cycle by finally admitting that President Barack Obama was born in the United States -- but in the process, re-stoked the controversy, waffled on the topic, and manipulated media coverage to focus on the opening of his new hotel (just hours after he gloated that that same press pool was stranded on the tarmac and therefore couldn't come to his rally).

During this particularly maddening news cycle, Trump stopped by "The Tonight Show" to tape last night's episode. And Fallon -- either unaware or indifferent to the racist overtones of Trump's birtherism or the "reveal" of his medical records on "Dr. Oz" -- chose to fawn all over the candidate. In the episode's metaphorical money shot, Fallon asked Trump if he could muss his orange coiffure. In an acquiescence that felt rehearsed, Trump let him have at it. Trump's combover deflated in long, cotton-candy-like wisps. As Fallon stood to bid him farewell, the candidate nervously patted it back into place.

Jimmy Fallon is great. I love the Jimmy Fallon water wars.

Trump was a good sport and showed his sense of humor and his playful side.

Trump plays the media like Heifetz played the violin.

...but in the process, re-stoked the controversy...

...either unaware or indifferent to the racist overtones of Trump's birtherism...

This is so delusional and ironic.

* Trump did not bring up the controversy again, the media did as a way to get Trump.
*The controversy was never racist except in the delusions brought on by leftwing hatred of the right that makes the divisive posionous dehumanizing accusation of racism whenever possible on the sightest pretense against their opponents....followed by rationalizing some delusional view of the world to justify their vile bigotry against honest discussion of issues that might contradict their narrow fragile leftwing dogma.
* Those on the Hillary Clinton side in 2008 like Sidney Blumenthal who was told at least one reporter that Obama was born in Kenya and pushed for investigation.
* Trump in both the original case, and in this case simply put an end to the issue that Leftwingers brought up.

It’s surprising how many of my friends love Fallon for his whimsical approach. I would classify us as the “over 40 but still amazingly bodacious” demographic.

I guess I'm in that demographic. :) Although I wouldn't classify myself as "bodacious." More, "out of shape." :)

I love Jimmy Fallon--for "Taxi" (with Queen Latifah) and "Fever Pitch" (with Drew Barrymore). Two funny movies!

Plus I like his Friday night thank you notes. :)

And the real irony is, Obama's publisher was the original birther.

Trump should of brought a pickle jar and opened it with a loud pop.

Note to Trump...

Have a pickle jar or your desk for the next photo op

if anyone asks...."I always like a fresh pickle"

Also....have a pickle jar on the podium at the next rally

...open it at appropriate time by the microphone...

say..."that's the POP heard around the world"

I don’t know what is more pathetic. That the left thought a comedian was some kind of political expert, or that Fallon was supposed to destroy trump.

I remember as a child hearing Red Skelton endorse Richard M. Nixon in an episode of Skelton’s 1960 comedy series on CBS.

So did Trump have a hair transplant some years ago, or is this his natural hair? It’s not a hairpiece.

Amazon still has its reviews section. Check these out for HRC and Tim Kaine’s Stronger Together. Hilarious!

??“over 40 but still amazingly bodacious” demographic.

As a recently divorced male with healthy appetites, I am very thankful for this demographic.

haahha, and HuffPo claimed that Fallon “humanized” Trump! Imagine that. Humanizing him????

They really are losing it.

This is one time we should believe Obama. However, this does not explain how the Aug. 7, 1961, birth got into the Honolulu newspaper on Sunday, August 10. Hardly any could get in the paper that fast, especially in 1961.

This particular demographic comes with the following advantages:
1. We’ve kicked feminism to the curb
2. We have a sense of humor
3. We don’t have the emotional upheaval/angst of youth

As a happily married woman and a hard core romantic....don’t give up. :)

Someone on a TV talk show asked if it was okay to sing along with rap music while in the car, including the ‘N’ word. The host, or whoever, had a stuttering, red-faced meltdown in backing away from the question, insisting ‘no, no, no.’
We are so ripe for dhimmitude.

Really, racist to question Obama’s birthplace? Hillary campaign started that with a photo of Obama in muslim clothing back in ‘08 so how is that not racist as well?

Besides isn’t Obama half white? So how is it possible for anyone to say anything racist against him?

Fallon asked Trump why he was running for president.
Trump said it was because he wanted a big cut in pay. LOL
