Good afternoon, Kathy.

Hope you’re well-rested after a nice long night’s sleep.

I’ll keep the ol’ appendages crossed for luck you get some “me time” today. That would be a nice change for you.

No rain yesterday and the festival was able to kick off nicely.
Looks like we won’t get through today dry, though. Just scattered showers, at least, and no storms so that’ll be manageable. Just hope it doesn’t rain at closing time because that’s when the fireworks go off. WOOHOO!

The Mom call came at 6:15a....she fell out of bed. I’ll call the neighbor. NO! The only other option is for me to put down a blanket, work together to get it under her, then after every 1-2-3...push, I pull the blanket and she pushes with her legs as best she can. Without her bit of help I couldn’t do it. When we make it out of the bedroom, and down the hall to the stairs, she putS her feet down a couple steps, finally is able to stand, I move the stair lift chair down to her butt level, her knees finally let her sit, bring the chair back to the top, bring her electric wheel chair out to the stairs. And we have SUCCESS!! My lower back and knees are not happy. She said she’d been down about 2 hours, but who knows. She was able to get a pillow, get turned around, and was lying next to the baseboard heater and was comfortable til I would hear her call. She doesn’t have the concept down that I’m asleep and she has to yell.

The whistle is right there. Why didn’t you use it?

I did.

Did you blow it really loud?

Well, not too loud. *sigh*

Then about 10:30 the phone rang and I heard her say (thru the baby monitor I have in there) “she’s at work”. So I got on the phone and said, “no, I’m here, it’s Saturday. It was my brother, now with wife and boat in Georgia...he told us a couple weeks ago that he got the call to go back to the slope in November. BUT...they called this past week and said...”can you be in Anchorage for a Monday meeting?” Of course! At least he doesn’t have to pack his arctic gear...he left it all here.

It’s been a busy day to say the least. d:o)
