Representative John Fleming (R-La.), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, filed a motion on Tuesday to bring a privileged resolution to the House floor calling for the impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. He told reporters at a press conference that after so many months of waiting, it was time to move forward.
Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the chairman of the caucus, agreed, saying, On Thursday well find out if we actually have the votes and move forward.
Skepticism abounds. Some House members question whether Koskinens lies, dithering, and lack of forthrightness over the investigation into the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative groups meet the constitutional standard for impeachment. Article II, Section 4 states that all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other crimes and misdemeanors.

Failure to comply with a subpoena resulting in destruction of key evidence;
Failure to locate and preserve IRS records in accordance with a congressional subpoena and an internal preservation order where 422 backup tapes containing as many as 24,000 of Lois Lerners emails key pieces of evidence were destroyed on Koskinens watch;
Failure to testify truthfully under oath and providing false and misleading information;
Falsely testifying that the IRS turned over all emails relevant to the congressional investigation, including all of Ms. Lerners emails;
Falsely testifying that emails were unrecoverable once the agency realized some of Ms. Lerners emails were missing;
Failing to notify Congress key evidence was missing; and
Despite destroying Lois Lerners emails on March 4, 2014, not notifying Congress the emails were missing until June 2014.
Hey girlie guys.....IMPEACH ALREADY!!! This should have been done to OBAMA....Nut-less wonders.....its why TRUMP is so popular....he's UNAFRAID!!
The moment of truth is that nothing will happen to the subhuman prick.
Congress has no power unless:
- Democrats are in control *
- The elite want something for themselves or their cronies
* And they pawn off the really hard decisions to the courts which they have stacked with progressives, so, no worries for them.
Yep. The fix was already in. Nobody wants to upset the gravy train.
The DC Uni-Party will close ranks to perform a kabuki theater production to try and convince us rubes that they are trying, all the while insuring all of their crooks in the current administration skate.
I am thinking Congress needs a pay cut for not doing their job and following their oath of office. Cut by half, I would say.
And, on the other hand, opponents say the charges are: Failure to comply with a subpoena resulting in destruction of key evidence; Failure to locate and preserve IRS records in accordance with a congressional subpoena and an internal preservation order where 422 backup tapes containing as many as 24,000 of Lois Lerners emails key pieces of evidence were destroyed on Koskinens watch; Failure to testify truthfully under oath and provid[ing] false and misleading information; Falsely testifying that the IRS turned over all emails relevant to the congressional investigation, including all of Ms. Lerners emails; Falsely testifying that emails were unrecoverable once the agency realized some of Ms. Lerners emails were missing; Failing to notify Congress key evidence was missing; and Despite destroying Lois Lerners emails on March 4, 2014, not notifying Congress the emails were missing until June 2014.
Well, I guess if you discount the targeting of conservatives as venal as an abuse of office, and extorting money unfairly from people who don't owe it (how many of those people paid without justification to try to ensure they stayed out of trouble) isn't stealing, then...I guess there is no reason to impeach.
He should’ve been fired, disqualified from all benefits and run out of town.
The Moment of Truth is that he will be protected by Obama and in all probability, nothing will be done to punish him.
Yes, its a calculated stage performance a few weeks before the congressional elections. No sale.
What about Lerner?
Not good enough. We should be surrounding his office and daring the son-of-a-bitch to come out. With ropes waiting.
FU IRS!
If we could only figure out a way to geographically break up these liberal enclaves such as media in NYC and bureaucracy in DC there's a better than even chance that's exactly what would happen. Their ability to insulate and protect their operatives is key to their influence.
