The Never Trump people don't actually believe this.
They are simply corrupt, Clinton supporters and phony conservatives who are working to help the Democrats to win.
They are despicable and untrustworthy.
>>What exactly are the high conservative principles of Romney and McCain that Trump has failed to express?<<
Same for Congressional Republicans. On every issue, they fold like a cheap suit. And keep pushing the country ever-leftward.
It is not failing to express conservative principles that the #NeverTrumpers object to; it is that Trump won’t play designated loser. So they emulate their true hero, Vidkun Quisling.
Let’s rewind the tape and recall exactly why Trump gained popularity in the first place.
1)It’s abundantly clear that if the illegal invasion isn’t stopped and reversed, we are done as a country. Got it - finished; it’s over. Re: Ann Coulter’s ‘Adios America’.
2)Nobody else has the...intestinal fortitude to talk about it, much less do something meaningful about it.
3)It’s an outrage our vets are treated the way they are by the very government who sent them to war. Of all Americans who should not be homeless and neglected, it’s our soldiers.
4)Nobody else has the sense to take care of them, that is, really take care of them after they come home.
Everything else is icing on the cake.
Interest that Limbaugh was a Cruz supporter, but is now reluctantly supporting Trump. Too bad Glenn Beck is reluctant neverTrumper#. Cruz’s had his window of opportunity, but preferred to take of the veil and show the world his self-centered narcissism. He will never have the same level of Tea Party support he once enjoyed....Including me.
reluctant Trumper,? Well, whatever it takes I suppose.
When Trump first announced, I didn't take him seriously at all. I said something indicating he was politically insignificant.
What a wonderful surprise it turned out to be. From his first few statements I thought "Wow....Wow....If he keeps on this track he could win." My wife, Latina, said the same thing.
My wife changed support from Ted Cruz first. I got in one more donation and switch by February. Trump had completely outmaneuvered Cruz and the "high road" we expected Cruz to take had taken a route through East Memphis on character. Right from the moment we saw the scandal on his team announcing Carson had dropped out we started to really pay attention to what his people, his responsibility and leadership, were resulting in.
We were loving Trump by then...what a fighter! Not some weeny fudge packing RINO, but a street brawler who had no problem taking out an entire building to kill a flea. Loved it.
He has been awesome since, like no other candidate in my lifetime.
Reluctant? Let's say it has been so long since we have a real, viable, fighting candidate, I didn't know what he was when I first saw him.
Whatever it takes, I want Trump in the Presidency this January.
NeverTrumpers=Uniparty.
You would think that the inroads he is making into minorities would have the GOP thrilled.
I listened to a lecture by this man least night. A history of the conservative movement since the 80s. He was pretty scathing on the children (and the brother?) of neoconservatives who got into positions of power through their relatives and then became the most vociferous never-Trumpers. Interesting guy.
You defined your journey is such a brilliant way. It was exactly my very same journey but couldn’t have said it was well as you, sir.
People forget his sense of humor. That’s what first caught my attention.
The British Spectator magazine lauded how funny he was a few weeks back. Not unimportant in Washington DC.
Well said.
I think Trump is comparable to General Patton who had his own moments on non political correctness. However, he was the absolute best man for the particular job that needed to get done.
Nevertrumpers were never conservative
Limbaugh is just another stupid lawyer—
Most of Trump’s negatives are actually lies where a word or two were presented totally out of context and then exaggerated to a ridiculous extreme.
I wonder, what will be his payback? They will not get off scott free
the best chance of saving the nation in the long run is to avoid elevating Trump to president and leader of the party because he could forever destroy conservatism and the Republican brand.
Using that logic, and given its past piss-poor performance, one could say the best chance of saving the nation in the long run is to avoid electing republicans to the congress.
After listening to Rush and Levin for years I’ve stopped, as have many, many others have too.
is the ride on the bandwagon fun?
The point is #NeverTrump does not exist, it is a paper tiger, it exists only in the minds of people who think they have a lot more influence than they actually do (such as Bill Kristol). Look how the #neverTrump's "savior" Evan McMullin is doing (if you can find anything about him in the news) he failed to even get 275 signatures in Tennessee to get on the ballot and he is polling less than 1% in every state he is on the ballot but Utah where he is at 9% but is actually pulling more votes from Hillary than Trump, increasing Trump margin in that state to +15%
