“We don’t investigate fraudulent charges unless they are over $100,” the fraud specialist explained. “The Clinton campaign knows this, that’s why we don’t see any charges over the $100 amount, they’ll stop the charges just below $100. We’ll see her campaign overcharge donors by $20, $40 or $60 but never more than $100.” The source, who has worked for Wells Fargo for over 10 years, said that the total amount they refund customers on a daily basis who have been overcharged by Clinton’s campaign “varies” but the bank usually issues refunds that total between $700 and $1200 per day.

The banks are conniving with 'Illary on this. This is carefully set up so that 'Illary has free rein to overcharge. Either the customer doesn't notice and she gets the money. Or, the customer complains, the bank issues the customer a refund, but the bank doesn't pursue 'Illary for the clawback. It amounts to the banks making donations of $1000/day to 'Illary. It's a variation of the bulk book buy scam.

This looks very bad on the surface; what I’d want to see is some context and some independent investigation. The bank takes the hits but I expect that then it gets it back in card usage charges. Same as they might take hits on little disputes about retail purchases.

How do we know this isn’t the donors lying? They, too, would know that to push this over $100 would mean the bank could come back at them.
