My, ahem, ‘distrust’ of the American media began, when Peter jennings was on live broadcast, in a near-orgasmic state, in 1975, during the coverage of the fall of Saigon, South Vietnam to the Communist North Vietnamese Army, as their tanks rolled through the streets, while stating what a waste of American lives had occured.
Those were heady days for the media, got rid of a President they despised and convinced Americans we were losing a war that we never even lost a battle in. Nixon was crushing the Vietcong with his bombing runs, but then the media saved the day for their communist friends. They have been a fifth column and enemy of the state for 50 years, only now they are close to going under no matter how many billionaires prop them up.
