I just checked on Web MD. Pneumonia IS contagious, particularly when its source is viral. It is spread when the germs that cause the infection spread from one person to another in close proximity. Thus, touching that child and being in that tightly packed group of people for the ceremony was TOTALLY irresponsible. I also don't get why she's on a plane, unless she's on oxygen full time. Even with that, you'd think those germs could easily spread on a plane.

It was TOTALLY irresponsible for her to be out in public with her diagnosis. It goes far beyond the lack of judgement in not taking care of herself or having protocols for medical care.

This type is associated with MS , Parkinson’s and other diseases of the lungs. It is not contagious.
