I understand that doctor may have been hoodwinked or whatever, but her best course would be to STFU and shop Clinton out to another doctor.

It appears that nothing of the sort has happened. They along with Dr. Bardack have doubled, and tripled down on he lie. So much for medical ethics and the Hypocratic Oath.
