Late last year, I kept getting credit card and other info from Wells Fargo sent to my house in someone's name I did not know. I called WF main offices and told them the person did not live here or had I ever heard of such a person. They said they would 'close the account' and I never heard another word from them. Still get stuff from time to time, so I throw it in the trash. I've never even been in a WF bank, even though there is one less than a mile from my house. I've never had an account with them, either...............

Just a couple of weeks ago my relative’s bank account was showing massive deposits and withdrawals by Wells Fargo (her account is with a different bank). She has never had any dealings with Wells Fargo. Her bank kept calling her and blaming the mess on her sons who are on the account with her because she is elderly and disabled. She told them emphatically that her sons did no such thing. Finally, after days of this harrassment they admitted it was widespread fraud. They had to close all her accounts and open new ones. She still is having problems accessing her checking account. We were waiting for this to hit the national news.

Banks aren’t the only ones doing this; hospitals can do it. I caught my local hospital applying money my wife paid on her account and applying it against my account. Now I have to audit the accounts.

I wonder how many hospitals are applying funds at their discretion and how many patients are overpaying.
