My understanding is that she can’t be pardoned prior to an indictment. May be wrong though.

Nixon was never indicted.
Likewise, Ford pardoned ALL Viet Nam draft dodgers.

Richard Nixon wasn't indicted before he was pardoned by Gerald Ford for any crimes he might have committed. Nixon was named an unindicted co-conspirator but not indicted.

A pardon doesn't affect impeachment. Hillary could still be impeached for crime, even if she were pardoned from formal legal action. The conviction in the Senate doesn't require a legal conviction, either before or after the Senate acts.

I just had a thought. If Hillary were elected, impeached, tried, convicted, and removed by the Senate, could she then claim immunity from legal action because it would be impossible to seat an impartial jury after the notoriety of the impeachment trial? I'm sure it would be attempted but could it have any grounds?

Yep you are Nixon was never indicted. Probably illegal but who pays any attention to that old constitution anyway.
