Literally one day after winning his primary, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) gave up on Donald Trump. In fact, McCain now sounds a bit like he's betting on Trump losing or, at least, looking like a loser for the rest of the campaign season to help him win a sixth term in the Senate.
In a gauzy, five-minute YouTube video released Wednesday, McCain looks directly at the camera and says: "My opponent, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, is a good person. But if Hillary Clinton is elected president, Arizona will need a senator who will act as a check not a rubber stamp for the White House."

Ya can’t fool all of the people some of the time but you can fool all of the Republicans some of the time.
McCain is a traitor. He has repeatedly helped arm ISIS.
Uh, the alternative was Barack Obama....
It’s possible, since the dem candidate ran unopposed. However he is popular with all the blue hairs in sun city and they all vote.
I’m not surprised. Sickened, but not surprised.
“Arizona will need a senator who will act as a check not a rubber stamp for the White House.”
That’s what Juan does best: checks conservatives for the WH.
And stabs us in the back the piece of .... Way to go Arizona!
To all you asses berating Arizona voters:
We have been trying to get rid of McCain for years! Our semi-open primary is to blame for his continuing election. Independents are allowed to choose to vote a Republican or Democrat ballot in the primary. This is how he keeps winning.
AzGOP has been ordered by a majority vote of State Committeemen to close our primaries. They continue to fail to do so and give various excuses. The excuse that is the closest to the truth is that it would cost too much in legal fees. The true cost would be the loss of the $$$ and kick backs McCain and his donors pour in to the AzGOP and the GOPe.
We are fighting the good fight here and keep running into the same crap that keeps trying to torpedo Mr. Trump. A majority of Republicans don’t want McCain.
Cochise County went for Kelli Ward by a little over 1000 votes. The margin would have been greater if the other two challengers would have dropped out instead of splitting the anti-McCain vote.
Sorry for the rant. Just getting tired of people who done live here pointing fingers when they have no idea what or how hard we are fighting here.
AZ is stuck on Stoopid with this Major League Clymer!
POS!
Words can’t express how much I detest this scum.
“done” should be “don’t” Stupid tablet.
Pride goeth before the fall. Heh, heh, heh!
What fall? He was just re-elected, UNFORTUNATELY. Unless you mean fall down stairs, or something like that.
Trump voters in AZ should give McCain’s democrat opponent a good hard look before pulling the lever, it might be the only way to get rid of this wacko bird.
It's all those shiny new voters...
How much has McStain donated to the Clinton Crime Family Foundation?
“McCain has made a very profitable career through treachery.”
I gave up on Comrade McCain when he and Scary Kerry pulled strings to close the books on our POW/MIAs, resulting in an immediate normalization of trade relations with Vietnam. A lot of our men were abandoned by these greedy money-grubbing a-holes, including one personal friend and classmate. Wonder how much money passed under the table on this deal?
Comrade McCain should have stayed with his buddies in Hanoi. I doubt any of those friends were American.
Those that profit from these things not being fixed.
Do you think the drug business could operate without the cooperation of Banks, Judges and very high ranking politicians?
(sigh) you are completely right.
“The AZ know-nothing voters screw the pooch, YET AGAIN.”
I lived in AZ for most of my life, and I still have lots of family, friends and acquaintances there. I know of NONE who are pro-McCain. The McCain crowd is not at all beyond a little or a lot of vote fraud. And he DOES have quite a sizeable crooked machine in the state.
IIRC, Kerry’s brother has some real estate near-monopoly business in Vietnam.
