Sorry...I don't see how this helps Trump.IIRC Mexico's President has already called him one or more filthy names (can't recall the exact ones).Mexico knows that if we do,in fact, stop the illegal flow they're in big,big trouble.Mexico also knows that if we start deporting wetbacks they're in bigger trouble. And Mexico knows that if we start taxing remittances from the US to Mexico the country can be literally destabilized.

IOW there's no way IN HELL that Donald's gonna win the Mexican gov't (or populace) over.

OTOH,it will give Mexico...and The Former Twelfth Lady...yet another opportunity for "racist"..."xenophobe"..."nativist"...etc...etc.

Build the wall? You betcha! Tax remittances? You betcha! Deport all wetbacks? You betcha! Try to convince Mexico to accept it? No way,Jose!

Am I missing something here?

Yes, almost too much to even comment on.

If you don’t see it then you don’t see it. Leave it at that!

Well, that’s not the point of the trip. Wait to see Trump’s immigration speech tonight. Don’t know what’s being said in private, but I’ll bet you that little pr1ck Nieto Pena will be looking for a bucket of ice to stick his a$$ in after Trump leaves.
It will be interesting to see what the “Little Beaner” says or does after Trump leaves.

Yes, but don’t let that stop you. LOL

Trump travels there to meet with the president of our neighbor. Sure we have problems, but we also have things we cooperate on. Trump goes down there and does just what a president should do, keep the lines of communication open, expose their president to the real man rather than the caricature presented by the press.

The Mexican people know what their citizens are doing up here. Many of them think we’ve been stark raving nuts not to do something about it before now. I know people who go down there, and they’ve heard this themselves.

Trump doesn’t hate Mexicans and neither do it, but we shouldn’t be a door mat for them to wipe their feet on.

We don’t care what the Mexicans think. They don’t vote. This event is for the US voters, democrats, independents and GOPe.

So given all that, who would have more leverage, President Trump or President Nieto?
