Bottom line is that neither your opinion nor mine makes a squat bit of difference to those who’d consider endorsing him and paying him a lot of money.

That is not the point. Helping to promulgate a lie about what happened to him is morally wrong on it's own merits.

We should speak the truth and not go along with an attempt to assassinate someone's character.

Lochte is the victim in this. He did nothing wrong. He was first robbed of money by the Corrupt Rio police force, and then they made up lies and spread them to the international media to rob him of his character.
