Hindu Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Called 'Devil' Shamelessly By A Republican Opponent. Hindu Reactions Surfaced.
HENB, Washington, Aug 25, 2016: Tulsi Gabbard, the first Hindu member in House of Representative (for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district since 2013) contesting again to the US Congress, has been targeted for her Hindu faith by her Republican opponent in the Congressional elections, prompting sharp reactions from the Hindu-American community members.
35-year-old Democratic Representative Gabbard is seeking her third-term re-election from Hawaii against Republican candidate Angela Kaaihue.
Kaaihue last week described support to her as "worship (ping) the devil" and called the Democratic Party the "Devil Democratic State."
"Some Christians say, a vote for Tulsi Gabbard is a vote for Satan, the devil do you agree or disagree?" Kaaihue alleged in a Facebook post, which has now been deleted.
This infuriated the Hindu-American community. The Hawaii Republican Party in a statement urged party members to disavow Kaaihue for her attacking Gabbard for her religion and faith.
The chairman of Kaaihue's party also condemned the attack, calling it "vulgar" and "religiously intolerant".
"Her vulgar, racially bigoted, and religiously intolerant descriptions of Democratic Party candidates are offensive, shameful and unacceptable in public discourse," said Fritz Rohlfing, chairman of the Hawaii Republican Party.
Tulsi Gabbard, a sympathizer of many Hindu organizations and Bharatiya Janata Party and its nationalist leader, Narendra Modi, was one of the first two female combat veterans to be elected to U.S. Congress.
Tulsi was among the first few to criticise the U.S. government's decision to deny a visa to Modi before he was elected prime minister of India. Gabbard had called the decision a "great blunder" for US politics and building relationship with foreign states.
Even after being ridiculed and abused by a Radical Christian politician from her opponents, Tulsi is spreading a message of peace and religious tolerance with a full faith in Hindu roots and Bharatiya Sanskara (Indian Cultural Link). Here is a great message on building peace and harmony from Tulsi Gabbard on the occasion of Holy Janmashtami.
Upananda Brahmachari, Chairman of Hindu Existence Forum and the Editor, Hindu Existence website vehemently opposed the ill mentality (Hinduphobia) and religious intolerance expressed by Republican candidate Angela Kaaihue and wished a solidarity for the success of the Democratic candidate Tulsi Gabbard with an emphatic win.

True that! The Indian’s invited the British in but then it took 145 years to get shut of them. It was the old, what did the Romans ever do for us? Well, roads, bridges, railroads, sanitation, health care, education....
Moreover, that’s what I’m saying - muslim rule wrecked India. It wasn’t always a shithole. It was the wealthiest country in the world.
“Then all the blather in light of this thread being about an ELECTION is meaningless.”
Is there going to be an election or not? Are there candidates running or not? Is there an elected office up for grabs or not?
It’s clear to me - if Gabbard’s opponent really is saying things about Gabbard being a Hindu - that she’s an idiot. It’s also clear that Gabbard is Bernie Sanders supporter who must think socialism is hunky-dory, and who is dumb enough to believe all the usual sick garbage that liberals believe. She’s not the devil. She just agrees with him on many things.
Then talk about the issues and not her religion
One could say the same thing about major Democrat controlled cities such as Chicago or Detroit but they all have the same thing in common and it's their politics..........
I pray that someone will give the Hindu a Bible, and then all of us pray for her eternal soul. It’s such a perverted and heathen bunch of sick beliefs. Reincarnation? Hare Krishna is “God”? Lord, please help these people. I worked with many H1-B Indians and they were all Christians, usually had attended Catholic schools in India. Thank God for those who were saved from eternal damnation. We sure don’t need these heathens in our government or our nation. Satan will tempt humans with all sorts of false gods and religions. And some really sick, bizarre ones, too. No creation of the Devil is benign, and all will lead to the destruction of our nation.
Elections are important, but that gal’s soul is more important.
>>Hinduism does not exactly have a satan. Their idea is that what has been created must always eventually be destroyed. What rises must eventually fall. So, the destroyer is not exactly evil, it is performing a function.
That’s what I thought.
And preaching at her from the campaign trail is NOT the way to get through to her
One can’t expect the average American to perform deductive reasoning! The Socratic Method and Aristotelian logic have no place in a modern campaign. It’s a battle for the 100. That is the IQ of the average American, and where candidates must fight. It’s why sports pages are written at a fifth grade level, and why commercials are often so insulting. However, so are many candidates.
This white, heterosexual, Christian, male, college graduate is weary of candidates who besmirch both their professed faith and their country through their arrogance, stupidity, or even perfidy. These yahoos materialize the Left’s straw men and only provide fodder for such specious articles as this. If one cannot speak well, then shut up and stay home. They need to speak to the wider audience and remain vigilant against a hostile press.
This means using simple grammatical structures, excising multisyllabic words, limiting sentence length, and replacing classical or historical references with pop culture references. Seems like one Republican has mastered these techniques. Maybe some of the downstream candidates should pay attention.
If you cannot understand that saying someone is the embodiment of all that is evil, then no amount of enumeration is going to help.
Who knows whether Hindus have a Satan. The fact remains that Christians do have a Satan. The person saying it knows what it means and the person hearing it knows what the intent is.

Well, the Hindu candidate is a Democrat. Democrats are Progressives. Progressives are Satanic.
This is not about Hindus, but I am reminded of:
"A missionary was walking in Africa when he heard the ominous padding of a lion behind him. 'Oh Lord,' prayed the missionary, 'Grant in Thy goodness that the lion walking behind me is a good Christian lion'
"And then, in the silence that followed, the missionary heard the lion praying too: 'Oh Lord,' he prayed, 'We thank Thee for the food which we are about to receive.'"

Yes’ you can’t explain it other than appealing to liberal group think.
“I agree that Hindus are not a problem, and I would not attack a Hindu.”
I disagree. When they call my house twice a month telling me they are microsoft and that my windows computer is throwing errors their way I let them have it. Insulting Shiva is the only way I’ve ever gotten a negative reaction from them.
A simple statement of fact throws you into a tizzy. Fact is the woman said nothing about Hindus. This was a red herring thrown out by a lib fanatic.
Tulsi is a Unitarian whose Hindu faith does not extend beyond her nose.
I am not in a tizzy
If religion is your test then my comments arebtrue
Your tizzy is apparent to all but yourself.
Religion is the test of all truth.
The woman is a progressive phony.
Her Hinduism is home grown Unitarian mush.
