I was just going to post, "What the hell is he talking about? Do I have to go read something before I can understand his argument? Can't he put this in his own words? It's like novels that have a nice little French phrase I don't understand. Is this some inside joke that only certain people can be in on?"

But it is a great book (The Name of the Rose).

You can always watch the movie version but it is not as good or satisfying as the book. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Name_of_the_Rose_(film) Sean Connery as a Franciscan Friar is interesting.
