Well, that will encourage the next crop of athletes.

That is ridiculous, but then again, so is Mugabe. Hope he does not treat them like the Iraqi soccer team!

Sounds like Iraq while Saddam, Uday and Qusay were still around.
Mugabe should be reminded what happened to them.

IIRC, Colombians murdered one of their soccer players for performing poorly (years ago).

This guys a peace of work he turned the breadbasket of Africa into a basket case... The employment rate in his country is now a whopping 18% The nation that at one time fed most of Southern Africa now must import food just to keep from starving. A “good” job in this nation, if you can find one might pay you $15 a day...and he vilifies those that cross the border to find work...
Graft and corruption are rampant and he’s worried about the money spent on the Olympic athletes..
Anything to deflect from your own incompetence.

To all members of Black Lives Matter: move back to an African country like Zimbabwe where you will be treated so much better.

Any government who punishes their athletes for not winning a medal in the Olympics should have their teams banished from participating in international sports. That would include the World Cup and Olympics.
