There may be a couple of other American hate groups that can rival the SPLC, but I know of none that can surpass them. They are the actual epitome of a hate group. (How To Recognize The Bigot.)
I will forever be contrite in knowing that in well-meaning naivete I used to donate to the Southern Poverty Law Center. I even came across an old membership card recently.
