Media Anti-Trump Frenzy Will Backfire

… the thoughts of a 22-year-old Trump supporter … a prosperous post-collegian in the San Francisco Bay area — someone who should be backing Bernie, or Hillary, or maybe Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. But instead he’s backing Trump, and so is his Asian fiancée. And the reason he gives is political correctness.

“For me personally, it's resistance against what San Francisco has been, and what I see the country becoming, in the form of ultra-PC culture. That’s where it's almost impossible to have polite or constructive political discussion. Disagreement gets you labeled fascist, racist, bigoted, etc. It can provoke a reaction so intense that you’re suddenly an unperson to an acquaintance or friend. ... If Trump wins, we will have a president that overwhelmingly rejects PC rhetoric. Even better, we will show that more than half the country rejects this insane PC regime.”

Are there really enough people paying attention to make a difference? I used to think so but after the last (p)residential (s)election I'm not so sure. How there are people that are undecided at this point (what difference does it make) is beyond me. Someone who appears to want to Make America Great Again vs. someone who may have put national security at risk and collecting YUGE amounts of money for their "foundation". Hmmm. Maybe I'll just do a coin flip. Reeeeee-diculous.

All the same, if Trump really is cucking on immigration, then I’m off the train.

That one cracked me up. If you jump off the train at this point, you land in a swamp of Hillary Muck. I recommend waiting until we reach the station. I say that as a former nevertrumper (and never really all that happy with the R choice, but it iswhatitis).

Absolutely NO immigration policy that Trump implements will be nearly as bad as Hillary granting citizenship to 30+ million illegals and ushering in the Permanent Democrat Majority.

It’s the Art of the Deal, man! Get used to it. It’s how Trump operates.

I really don’t care.

If Trump cucks on immigration, then the country’s over anywise, and we might as well just start stocking up for the inevitable civil war that will result.

She would also invite a serious break-up of America.

Does anyone really think either of them could actually do everything they say they’re gonna do? The lyin’ king has spent 7+ years being divisive but that’s counter to what he said WAY back in ‘07. Great uniter my rosy red............. Guess a lot of people bought that load of manure. Twice.

I think it will make a difference this time. And many voters see Hillary Clinton as the ultimate Establishment candidate (she has many supporters on Wall Street and the Hollywood Left).

First, don’t pay attention to the media whores. Most of them hate his guts and will latch on to ANYTHING to diminish his support. The rest are just after attention-getting headlines. Trump is going to make a major immigration speech in a day or two - why not wait until the man states what, exactly, his position is.

Second, and more importantly, what is the alternative? Stick your head in the sand and don’t vote in a fit of pique? Yeah, that’ll get a better result - NOT! It’ll give us Hillary, and virtually unlimited immigration plus amnesty. That means, in no uncertain terms, a PERMANENT Dem majority. It means that George W. Bush will have been the last Republican President, EVER.

Look, Trump is GOING to keep the large numbers of unvetted Moslems out. He is GOING to severely reduce the number of illegals. He is GOING to deport aliens - legal or not - who commit crimes. The rest - MAYBE that is an open question. But Clinton will do NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS.

You face a choice between 70% - 80% of what you want (even IF you believe the media whores) on the one hand, and literally 0% on the other. Seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

I only care about two issues:
Repeal of Obamacare
Kill anything related to AGW (global warming).

The rest of it is just politics to me. But there is a reason for that. Those two things affect me personally - and I think the economy and western civilization is on the cusp of utter financial and social collapse no matter who wins. So the immigration thing is kinda irrelevant to me.

When people ask me who I’m voting for, my answer is usually, “I’m buying more ammo”.

This bothers me as well. Nothing short of deportation will save California. It’s not an American state anymore, it’s a country occupied by a 3rd world invasion. A refusal to deport the millions of foreign national lawbreakers now here is defacto amnesty.

Are you implying that a politician would say things in order to get elected, and then not do those things once in office? That’s just crazy talk. It could never happen.

From the tone of your post it’s obvious you just don’t care and Trump’s stance on immigration has nothing to do with your position.

Buckeye, of course you’re being practical and using common sense, but for too many people around here it’s all or nothing on immigration. Fine, stay home then and then we get Hillary and a long succession of lefties after her destroying what’s left of America. Meanwhile as America is burned to the ground the “purists” will still argue and keep waiting for the perfect conservative to come along. I’m 49 years old. If Hillary wins I know I won’t live to see another non-Democrat president, but I will live to see our nation destroyed once and for all by the left and the globalist sellouts.

Remember, the last couple of elections, we had absolutely horrible presidential candidates. And there are still too many conservatives who absolutely refuse to vote for someone who is not a "pure" conservative (whatever that is).

Immigration is the ONLY issue of real importance right now because everything else hinges on what happens with it.

If we don’t get control of the immigration system - and by this I don’t just mean build a wall, but deport all the illegals and drastically cut down on legal immigration - there won’t be anything else left. Once all these nice “family-oriented, hard-working” immigrants start voting Democrat, the Dems will have a complete lock on government at all levels.

You know what that means?

Obamacare will be repealed...to be replaced with universal mandatory single payer.

It means total gun control. It means carbon taxes out the wazoo. It means no rollback of abortion or gay marriage or any other social issue ever again. It means 60%+ top marginal tax rates plus 50,000 pages of new regulations.

In short, everything else depends on getting immigration right. Don’t do that, and you hand the keys to the entire country to the Democrats.

And that is stupid....

First that is the media. He is not changing on immigration.

Second the alternatives are unacceptable in the extreme

Third if you run on this you are a coward and no better than Glenn Beck
