My BIL, a proper American of Thai origin, rides the BART to work daily. He will agree that San Francisco, in some aspects, is as bad or worse than a third class nation. However, he has a better job and sees less corruption here. Definitely a Trump supporter over the witch.

I miss the old days, before we had democrat mayors. In San Francisco, we had numerous telephone booths with closing doors everywhere downtown. We had numerous stairwells at Civic Center to the underground garage below the park plaza. Bathrooms were everywhere in parks, BART, and shopping locations. Well, during Mayor Feinstein’s term (yes, that Dianne Feinstein) bums started pissing and defecating in park stairwells. Solution: board up the stairwells, and force people to walk a block away to an elevator and single stairwell that is enclosed. The telephone booths disappeared. Bathrooms started to get shut down. After 911, BART locked all bathrooms. So bums now just defecate and piss against the walls at BART stations. Relatively nothing positive has been done over the last 40 years by Democrat mayors, other than throwing away millions of dollars on portable toilets or pay-toilet automated kiosks that were a disaster. Democrats are full of sh...

Several years ago I was marginally involved with train car floor installations. It was about $100K per car. All because these scum can’t be bothered to find a bathroom.
San Francisco is worse than several poor Third World cities I’ve been to - both dirtier and smellier. A walk down Market Street to the Westfield shopping mall or down to the Metreon subjects one to the smells (and occasional sights) of human waste. However, there are differences - while the Third World cities featured people who were obviously poorer and wearing worse clothing, they did not have people wandering around who were either mentally disturbed or under the influence of hard drugs.
