WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The foundation started by Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton should shut down despite its good work, two major newspapers said in editorials on Wednesday, calling for its closure to avoid perceptions of "pay-for-play" amid the U.S. presidential campaign as critics step up their attacks over the issue.
Despite plans announced earlier this week to reorganize the foundation if Hillary Clinton wins the White House in November, USA Today said the global charity must close for the Democratic presidential candidate to avoid any appearance of unethical ties.
"The only way to eliminate the odor surrounding the foundation is to wind it down and put it in mothballs, starting today, and transfer its important charitable work to another large American charity such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation," the paper's editorial board wrote.
The Washington Post said in its editorial that the planned steps unveiled on Monday to rename the foundation, end foreign and corporate donations and have Bill Clinton resign from the board should have happened sooner - before his wife served as secretary of state - and still fall short.

That's the problem with supporting corrupt leaders. There's always a good chance that they'll be bought by someone whose got a different agenda than you.

This one came at us spinning from the first sentence. The foundation "started" by the Clintons implies that they are somehow no longer in control of it, hence no longer responsible for its outrageous abuses. Wrong. "Despite its good work" - here is a "charity" that appears to benefit a very small class of the oppressed, which consists of the Clintons themselves. It certainly doesn't consist of the Haitians, who are still waiting for relief promised to by that foundation, fully 85% of which has been squandered on luxury travel and Beyond First Class accommodations for Guess Who.
The Clinton Foundation is a dead albatross tied around the neck of her campaign and it's beginning to stink too much even for her nominal political allies to stomach. Too bad. She doesn't have to worry about repelling anyone because she doesn't have to worry about a straight campaign. The fix is in, and if her people can't lay the office at her royal feet, then off with their heads. We may be speaking literally here.

This crime family will never shut down this path of money. It is how they funnel bribe money to Webb Hubble’s daughter and plan for her political future. And, it is used to provide free money to Hill and Bill for most of their expenses.
With this crime family money is critically important and so is power. They will never give up this slush fund unless there is an equivalent path of free, nontaxable money available to them that they fully control.

Good point, but even the Kennedy dynasty only lasted one generation. By the time you get to the second generation it’s obvious that you’re dealing with people who are at least mildly retarded.
I would bet that they are continuing to sell “early access” as we speak, before the price goes up.
I think they're referring to the $1,000,000 salary that Chelsea gets from the foundation. The Clintons really believe that charity should begin at home, and in their case stay there.
And over 90% is chewed up on “administration”, i.e. huge salaries for Clinton cronies who spend most of their time working for Clinton’s campaign, and to finance the Clinton’s lifestyle and Bill’s overseas debauchery junkets. Capone had nothing on these cretins.
