Andrea Tantaros filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court of the State of New York against Roger Ailes, Fox News, William Shine, Dianne Brandi, Irena Briganti and Suzanne Scott. In the complaint, she called Fox News a “sex-fueled Playboy Mansion-like cult.”

Roger is a disgusting fat hog who could not pick up a prostitute if he drove a new caddy and flashed a fistful of C notes. Basically, these gals are all being truthful. One desperate girl who was very young and needed a job when Ailes hit on her fell for it and slept with this hog for a year or more of abuse. I do not buy that any women deserves any form of filth from any superior man at work. It is understood that you do not mix work with this kind of BS.

The exchange was with Curtin and Aykroyd. I didn’t recall it was about Lee Marvin. That helps with the search though. The video and transcript comes up if you Google this:

I saw someone quote the “when you’re on your back, the meter is running” line somewhere else within the last week. This skit definitely made a lasting impact.
I think she named them to try to show a pattern of her complaining about sexual advances or comments made to her and the company reacting by demoting her and taking her off the air while not seeming to do anything to the people who she complained about. The lawsuit seems to be targeted entirely at the people at the company who reduced her job duties and airtime. Makes sense since the changes to her job are what resulted in the negative financial impact to her.
So while Scott Brown may have created a “hostile environment” he wasn’t the one who made the decision to take her off the air. She doesn’t seem to blame O’Reilly himself for taking her off of his show after he made his alleged sexual advances, but seems to claim it was the same Fox departments who took her off The Five and eventually off the air entirely. And she holds Ailes responsible since they work for him. She doesn’t seem to have any evidence Ailes gave the orders, but seems to believe it and imply it.
There are two ways to look at all this. She had some sexual advances or comments made to her, particularly by Ailes, and when she declined, he set in motion a series of events designed to demote her, lower her profile on the network and eventually take her off the air. Or, she made complaints about a lot of things that the network either didn’t believe or thought were minor issues, they got tired of dealing with it, and sought to force her out of her job.
The big problem for the network is they don’t have good reasons to show why they demoted her. The story they’re using about her book not being approved is pretty much shattered in her brief as she documents where she did tell them about the book. So it looks like they’re trying to cover up the reason they wanted her out. And that looks like a smoking gun that the network knew they were in the wrong. Reacting to any sexual harassment complaints, even if they are minor or unsubstantiated, by demoting an employee is going to look very bad in the eyes of the law.

And I do have to chuckle at the fact that she is now dating the plower of a thousand groupies, Dave Navarro. I'm sure they all had to do the spin that so upset Andrea.
I feel badly for the girls who didn’t want his attention. I feel zero sympathy for the girl who slept with the boss and collected a big fat pay check.

Even in the briefing itself, she lets slip that she might have tolerated the sexual environment if they hadn’t tried to demote her job position. I doubt she was deeply offended by most of it but playing up the emotional distress in the court filing is the obvious approach to take.
We’re not talking about crime, just a civil case. As far as I used to hear, flirting or asking someone out wouldn’t be considered harassment if the woman requested it to stop, either directly or through HR, and the man complied and didn’t do it again. If it kept happening repeatedly anyway it might be considered harassment at that point.
The issue again seems to be with management’s reactions to her complaints. After the O’Reilly complaint, she says they took her off O’Reilly’s show. She complains that they kept bringing Scott Brown and Dean Cain on as guests on her show after she complained about them. But that latter one seems to me not a good argument, as long as those two stopped the behavior she was complaining about. Those incidents are definitely a weaker part of her case, but it’s used as supporting material to try to argue that management was either doing nothing or taking actions to harm her in response to her complaints.
Very good point. If nothing happened after the first incident, the matter is/was settled. So why bring it up in a deposition, unless you are just piling on to up your settlement.
There’s definitely a pile-on going on in this briefing. There is discussion of far more than even just sexual incidents. Printing here that Roger Ailes said Shannon Bream has “an annoying voice” doesn’t seem relevant to anything. Unless it’s to tie into the fact that later on she says Fox’s marketing department “went after her” in various ways to third parties to try to hurt her reputation on a broad scale. Then there’s stuff about how Ailes described some women as “angry black woman” or “black girl.” Seems silly to bring it up unless she might be trying to get sympathy with a black judge in the case. I think this is why Geraldo was saying the briefing was in part a revenge play trying to poison some relationships between Ailes and others. Some of the piling on seems to distract from her main complaints.
I also read she claimed Ailes called Kimberly Guilfoyle a Puerto Rican whore. I don't know if she said she overheard it or if he said it to her face.
Yes, all those quotes are in there along with asking if Gutfeld and Perino were gay. And he also called Guilfoyle a “Puerto Rican street fighter,” which sounds like a compliment unless you’re looking to focus on a racial stereotype. She says that all these comments were in conversation with him. He also said Guilfoyle was “easy.” I find that statement plausible. :D
