Being an NC native, I have to ask, are you sure you’re referring to State Troopers and not city or county? I’ve had no problems whatsoever with the troopers, they’ve long been known for restraint and professionalism. City and county can be another matter entirely. I’ve had problems with them in the past, depending upon location. There are a few places that are known for borderline harassment. Riding your bumper, sometimes with high beams on, was a favorite way to cause you to cross the center line, weave or something else giving them cause to pull you over.

The one that wrote me up after the motorcycle wreck while I was busted up in the hospital was definitely State. POS named Presley IIRC. Kept his cruiser in the driveway of his house with a big dog chained nearby. Everyone knew him as an a-hole.

The others, have to say not certain, being at night, being new to the area (Hickory/Granite Falls) and soon to GTFO.
