Reminds me of the Duke lacrosse case: ludicrous on the face of it (and all the players were cleared by DNA testing before anyone was arrested)
but no matter, what was important was pushing a false narrative that seemed to back up the grievance industry.

” I really thought that this story was overblown and BS. I hope he gets vindication especially from all those companies dropping him.”
Ditto.
And remember to take $10,000 with you if you go to Brazil.
Wasn't kicked in. How does one vandalize a door frame?
Do not go to Brazil.
Thanks for posting this. The number of posters here who branded the athletes stupid, filthy liars, and who believed every word the Brazilians spewed, was staggering. Not looking for a single one of them to apologize, either. From what I could gather, the fact that these are American swimmers of Olympian ability alone was enough to convict them.
+1
It would have been an improvement.............They should have charged a demolition fee.............
Wow.
The new reality is if the media try a person and convict him everyone assumes it must be true. Does anyone see parallels between this incident and the Duke lacrosse "scandal"? With the size and extent of the Rio slums wouldn't a rational individual make some attempt to verify the condition of the "crime scene" before and after the incident prior to conviction? Any defense attorney in this country worth his salt would destroy this case.
None of the trash-the-Americans crowd thought it odd we had seen no pics of the damaged restroom. That should have been a giant red flag, but siding with the Brazilians and the MSM was more sophisticated...or something.
This is going to cost the swimmer a fortune in never-to-be-recovered income.
Some snowflake company heads can't even wait for all the facts to come out before clutching their pearls and diving into the sloughs of fear and trembling.

Someone needs to ask the armed guards what they did with the money they took.
Someone needs to ask Lochte why he supposedly tore a poster frame off the wall of a back alleyway.
Ryan said he over-exaggerated
Well now; this sure changes things.
USA Today has done a thorough and extensive investigation...Pardon me? When has that ever happened before?
Shouldn’t Lochte be asked why he vandalized the restroom? The Brazilian police made no mention of a poster. They say he and the others trashed the bathroom.
This is going to cost the swimmer a fortune in never-to-be-recovered income.....Not gonna cost him anything. He just won’t get freebies from sponsors.
You are 101% incorrect.
His corporate sponsors are heavy big-name companies...Speedo, Gillette, Gatorade, Ralph Lauren, Nissan and AT&T.
Speedo and Ralph Lauren have already dropped him.
It's estimated he could lose up to $10 million in lost sponsorship.
In addition, there are descending cash bonuses for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the thousands and thousands of dollars for all winning athletes. These bonuses can be revoked by the Olympic Committee on "morals" grounds, and at this moment in time and the way things are going, his bonuses will probably be revoked unless ongoing investigations prove otherwise.
Your statement that athletes only receive "freebies" from their sponsors is silly.
They get CASH, baby!
Leni
Your statement that athletes only receive “freebies” from their sponsors is silly.....The act (swimming ) is done. The sponsorship is a freebie. Period.
