MINNEAPOLIS
Some of the pills taken from Prince's estate in Paisley Park after his death were counterfeit drugs that actually contained fentanyl a synthetic opioid 50 times more powerful than heroin, an official close to the investigation said Sunday.
The official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, said nearly two dozen pills found in one Aleve bottle were falsely labeled as "Watson 385." According to Drugs.com, that stamp is used to identify pills containing a mix of acetaminophen and hydrocodone, but the official said at least one of the pills tested positive for fentanyl.
Autopsy results released in June show Prince died April 21 of an accidental fentanyl overdose. The official who spoke to the AP said records show the 57-year-old Prince had no prescription for any controlled substances in the state of Minnesota in the 12 months before he died.
Authorities are still investigating how Prince obtained the drugs.

He should have stuck with weed and alcohol.
He was a dope head. We all knew it— just like a list that would bore you to tears. Too much money too fast and no moral discipline— over and over again. “THE WAGES Of SIN IS....”
Another showbiz druggie? Color me stunned!
Or murder.
Thank God Rush got help
He tried very hard to be a good Christian. Even refusing to perform the raunchy songs later in his career. Clearly he had issues and struggled a lot. I hope God has him now.
Just keep saying non violent drug offender. Dealing drugs is a violent offense.
He obviously was in a lot of pain in his last days.
It seems that drugs will usually lead to a bad end.
He wasn’t dealing. He was buying for personal use to help him with pain because his hips were at a point where he wasn’t able to walk pain free.
Yeah, enough of that’ll put anyone face down on the deck, but at least they’ll be able to get up and walk away in the morning.
This is exactly the sort of person Jesus was especially talking about when he said, “Judge not.” People from broken homes, etc. I have a cousin into drugs, illiterate, etc. When he committed suicide a few months ago, I thought about his father, who beat him daily for years, from the time he was a toddler, for ten years or more.
Prince was a junkie who ended up alone and dead in an elevator.
I agree. I have known addicts. Sad and broken people trying to find peace.
Sad
If they can get an “accidental” death ruling, his insurance will pay off.
Getting out on stage to entertain the masses over and over and over again ain’t as easy as it looks...

I have hip/back pain...mostly nite time. But, I’m kinda old. Can’t imagine going to black market for drugs.
