What's truly un-American is the bloated police state and ever expanding and intrusive big government which is necessary in order to enforce Contraband Law, and which is antithetical to any true belief in minimal government or individual choice.

Like you, I'll "tolerate" Freedom, with all of its inconveniences and challenges, as opposed to adopting the overtly authoritarian view which rationalizes arbitrary law, and all the evils which flow from such illegitimate "solutions" to society's ills.
Tyranny's apologists notwithstanding, if you're not infringing on anybody's rights, then the State has no business threatening you with prison time for anything you choose to do in your pursuit of your happiness.
