How come Portland OR, Burlington VT and, maybe especially Windsor ON are so nice?
Are you SURE the problem is Democrats?
All I really knows is my own observation. We live in northern Indiana close to the steel mills. My grandmother lived in East Chicago where my grandfather my dad and lots of other men worked in the mills. It was a very mixed community and I saw black families, mom stayed home and dad worked in the mills like my dad. That was in the fifties and early sixties. Now you couldn’t pay me to walk around there, but I sure did as a child.
Don’t know about Burlington or Windsor, but you obviously haven’t been to Portland in a very long time.
My nephew works in Portland Oregon in law enforcement (Federal Marshal), he showed me the places even his own people won’t go into without full battle rattle and in force.
He told me in no uncertain terms to stay out of those parts of town while I was visiting.
