A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.
The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support
In general, the poll shows Texas Republicans want Cruz to be their candidate for Senate again in 2018 but not overwhelmingly. Fifty percent said they would like Cruz to be the nominee, while 43 percent said would like someone else to carry the banner.

So who do you work for and why are you so interested in finding out where I am from?
That and during his primary run. Took all sorts of folks for granted and decided that Nevk had a hotline to God
LOL. I thought the girlfriend story was the Enquirer story referred to upthread.
I had forgotten about the Oswald/Cruz story.
I believe Poppy Bush gave the signal for Cruz to get out, after the Enquirer and the photo. The Bushes are connected to so many things, in so many ways. Poppy was and is deathly afraid people will start discovering “things”.
In this article, about a different topic, it mentions how Poppy said he just couldn’t remember where he was the day JFK was assassinated. I haven’t met anyone who lived through that day to forget where they were!

“Lyin’ Ted” moniker is going to stick with him the rest of his life. Confirmation bias in it’s best.
Cruz criticized Hillary in his speech and has said explicitly he is not voting for Hillary before and after the speech. Hillary’s not the issue. He is simply being honest that he’s an undecided voter when it comes to Trump, like many conservatives. It just shows how sick the world of politics is when simply asking the voters to think for themselves, use their own judgment and follow their own conscience is considered some kind of grave moral error.
The fact is Cruz accurately represents conservatives who are not sold on Trump. He’s honestly communicating to Trump that Trump needs to continue to work on wooing that block of voters if he wants to win. If Trump pivots to the left, he won’t win, because those people don’t trust that he’s a real conservative any more than they trusted that McCain and Romney were. It won’t help Trump for him to have false confidence that he’s won those voters over yet. He needs to convince conservatives that he’ll deliver what they’re looking for.
Maybe Cruz can tie up with Beck and the two of em can be the hate Trump crazies together.
We’re gonna need a bigger bowl.
He only has to be a citizen to be a Senator, natural born citizen only applies to President.
Not sure if he is even a citizen.
LOL, as if moving to the Soviet Union merely gives the “appearance” you might be anti-American to assassinate the President.
When “con” starts standing for conspiracy theories instead of conservative, our movement turns into a failure and a joke.
What is great about 2018 is we only have 8 seats to defend so the Texas seat will be highly public and have national interest.
I don’t think it’s a matter of him growing up as much as he was playing a role....when in fact, he is a Globalist, just like the rest of them. IMO
He was just playing a part, when he had his performances in the Senate. He is just as much a Globalist traitor as McConnell is:
It started with this:
.
Then this:
.
Then this pitiful alliance with Moonbat Beck:
.
Then this dumb stunt, naming Carly as his VP!
.
Finally, Lyin' Ted in his own words.

The sociopath is as FUBAR as Hillary and cannot be considered a "conservative" by any stretch of the imagination.
Too bad he was born Canadian and was never qualified for the office, other than his citizenship, he did all the right things.
“But, you have to admit...he laid some groundwork for his downfall prior to the RNC.”
You are correct, but as stated he had a chance to redeem himself at the convention but he did not do it. Now he will have to pay the price for what would have been an easy re-election as Senator.
Agree.
Yes. I think so too.
“That is why he is so pissed. He felt Trump stole what was rightly his.”
Yes. Supposedly this is the same response that Clinton had to Obama in 2008.
Per your earlier post about conspiracies:
I do not devote excessive time for research on various conspiracies for two reasons:
1) I assume as a matter of course that conspiracies are the norm, not the exception.
2) I assume that the Powers will do all they can to keep them quiet.
I consider it a standard tactic by those in political power to portray the very idea of conspiracy as absurd paranoia; that way they get uninformed but rational persons to avoid objectively considering evidence of same.
Every back-room deal - every one - is a conspiracy. How many back-room deals happen on a daily basis? Every insider-trading maneuver - every one - is a conspiracy. How many insider-trading maneuvers occur on a regular basis? Those are just two examples.
Conspiracy literally means: to breathe together. Human beings are both social and hierarchical. Whenever the cheerleaders and athletes in high school band together and share their secrets in hushed tones so that the out crowd does not hear, that is a conspiracy. It is thoroughly banal and mostly harmless, but it is one.
Add age, experience, position, and money to that inclination, and you have the makings for some serious damage.
I weary of people speaking as though a real conspiracy in high places would be an extraordinary thing.
The Bilderbergers scoff at the idea that there is anything conspiratorial about their organization - while the complicit media actively protects them from scrutiny - yet they have almost unprecedented security and secrecy at their meetings. (In some cases, citizens are not even able to get to and from their legal residences by car just to appease these puppet masters.)
Obama changed the White House response to FOIA to exclude key documentation.
Clinton used a private server for thousands of official emails.
Those acts, and many others like them, are done to enable and protect conspiracy; it is that simple.
I’d send Perry some bucks if he were to take on Ted in a primary.
Poppy was 100% tied up in the assassination. There’s so much circumstantial evidence to support it. There are people sitting in prison that were convicted based upon much less circumstantial evidence.
