A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.
The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support
In general, the poll shows Texas Republicans want Cruz to be their candidate for Senate again in 2018 but not overwhelmingly. Fifty percent said they would like Cruz to be the nominee, while 43 percent said would like someone else to carry the banner.

That was an extremely foolish move. And then he appeared to ignore her when she fell while they were at some rally. It consolidated my idea that he was a narcissist who had no interest in other people.
Better we learn this early than have him elected prez!
Eyeglasses look ok on some guys but on Rick Perry definitely not. IMHO.
I think Trump and Madsen made a deal once they got Cruz to leave the race. Remember, Stone, Madsen, and Alex Jones are all in bed with each other. I think once they knew they had the goods, Stone or someone outside of the campaign that Trump trusts, went to Cruz and told them things were about to get even worse for him. Cruz cries uncle, Stone tells Madsen to drop it, Madsen tells Jones the deal and tells him Mr. Trump would appreciate if you stop talking about it.
But, I could just be my creative mind working.
The reports saying the snake-handler was in fact a `player’ and hypocrite is something like Trump’s employee the other day saying Clinton is suffering from a debilitating, possibly disqualifying illness.
The truth is an absolute defense to a charge of defamation.
In both cases Trump was pretty much saying, “Have you tried that great new Jewish sushi restaurant: the `Sosumi’?”
This Texan is no fan of Perry, but I would have a VERY TOUGH TIME voting for Cruz if he’s on the ticket...in fact, I won’t. I may even vote for the Democrat running against him.
There has to come a time when we hold our politicians ACCOUNTABLE for their promises, particularly if they’re in WRITING.
I see you’re somewhat new here. Have you written these things here in the past? Not being judgmental or rude; just asking a question. Your post is fascinating.
Papa Bush is at some strange places, working for some strange shell companies in the Caribbean, prior to and during the assassination. His employment with the CIA isn’t limited to his time as the director.
Thats OK. I do and Ill cast my vote with you in mind.
Me too.
“This is the result of Ted making an @ss of himself at the convention.”
That was the final nail, last straw fer sure...and he did it up right. But, you have to admit...he laid some groundwork for his downfall prior to the RNC.
It’s a shame because I had high hopes for him previously. Then he seemed to go bonkers.
Very possible. Maybe when Trump gets in they’ll let it all out. This is the most dangerous think the NWO is up against. I doubt there’s anything else that would’ve gotten them to pull CRuz out of the race.
Ted Cruz got my vote for President in our primary. NEVER AGAIN!!! Perry ‘18!!!
I have mainly kept quiet about my time working in the House. I have a new career and I have no loyalty to any party. I am a nationalist and to some degree a racial realists regarding the need to restore America’s Euro-Centric, Western Christian values.
I have done a ton of research, both academic and professional, regarding what most would call “conspiracy theories.” Take or leave it, but the story about his Dad was like dropping a 10 megaton nuclear bomb right down Cruz’s pickle barrel.
The day of Indiana he’s telling everyone this is going to a nasty floor fight and there will be blood. Eight hours later he quits. Seem strange?
And that didn’t even include the girlfriends.
Fellow Texans.... When the Indians surround the wagon, we take up a gun and fight, not run hide behind your “principals”. I voted for republicans that I did not support 100%. I will not be voting for Cruz next election, I do not trust him.
True, but the only defect in that logic is that when you start trying to sue public figures it becomes difficult to win a defamation lawsuit. They would have to prove that Trump published the statement to a third-party with actual malice and reckless disregard for the truth. That’s a tough standard. It’s why entering the political arena is tough because you will often be defamed and slandered without recourse.
He had the chance to make a great speech. He was given prime time slot to do it in. He wasted his moment in a fit of pique. He was not thinking of his country or his party --- or, really, his own career. He was having a temper tantrum because he got beat.
In future political history classes, they can use this example as what NOT to do at your party's convention; even if you do disagree with the candidate who beat you. I'm thinking that John Kasich is done with the base of the Republican party as well. What a bunch of babies these guys turned out to be.
Hello!! The enemy is Hillary!
Delta still showed New Orleans - Havana - Caracas on their route maps well into the 1960s.
“This is the result of Ted making an @ss of himself at the convention.”
Or, at the very least, to pretend like he was the better man.
Look at it this way: This is a man that has been plotting to become president since he was a Freshman at Princeton. He goes to Harvard Law, gets great marks, clerks for a great judge, makes all of the right connections in the Bush administration, becomes Solicitor Gen. of the most conservative state in the Union, and then wins Senate seat.
Think about it. He did all of the right things, checked all of the right boxes, made all of the right connections, and then when it came time for him to be crowned, some guy with funny hair and an orange tan from NYC steals his birthright.
That is why he is so pissed. He felt Trump stole what was rightly his.
I want to see Cruz do the Cheetos dive!
