Time for a Ted Cruz reboot, as poll shows Republicans down on him since his snub of Trump
The Dallas Morning News ^ | August 19, 2016 | Todd J. Gillman

Ted Cruz's image among Republicans had plummeted to a personal low by the Indiana primary — the defeat that forced him from the GOP presidential contest.

But he may wish for those heady days of May now...

Potential GOP rivals are probing for weakness ahead of Cruz's bid for a second term in 2018. That includes House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Austin. The former federal prosecutor is the second wealthiest member of the U.S. House, with access to a family fortune topping $100 million, though he has no obvious base of support to overcome the tea partyers still plenty in thrall of Cruz.

Dryly assessing Cruz's tenure in the Senate, McCaul said Wednesday that he'd "spent a lot of time running for president..."

For 14 months, Cruz spent precious little time in Texas as he stoked the flames of his White House ambitions.

If any of these candidates have a more conservative record than Cruz, then by all means they should challenge him. However, I would not support any of them that may be Kay Bailey Hutchinson v. 2.0 or John Cornyn v. 20 just because some people are butt hurt that Cruz did not endorse Trump and therefore will settle for any candidate whose name is not Cruz.

I don’t care about the egos or personalities or feelings, and I don’t worship any of these guys, because I can guarantee you that every single one of them will disappoint you at one time or the other. The goal is to send as many of the most conservative people to Washington that we can.

Watch out for Briscoe Cain, a newly elected Texas House Representative that ousted a career RINO Wayne Smith in a southeast district. He’s young and conservative and might throw his hat into the ring.

Rick Perry is interested in the position and I would go for him.

Agree. He would do much better in DC.

Those who knew him in college were 100% correct with their remarks.

“Rick Perry is interested in the position and I would go for him.”

I think Perry could be a half decent Senator, although I despised him as Governor, for a number of reasons (including trying to privatize the Interstates, along with trying to build thousands of miles of toll roads), but in the Senate he might be ok - and I will certainly vote for him over Cruz...that’s a no-brainer.

And yes, he will run...he’s no different than Rubio - he lives for political office, and he has none now.

Mark Levin loves his daughter (or daughter-in-law) who worked for Cruz.

The Cubanadian fraud is done.

Natural born citizen = born here of citizen parents

Ted Cruz = born of foreign father + born in foreign country

Double not eligible
