Oh I think the threat is real enough. There is evidence, at least to me that the last election was affected by voter fraud as well.

Even UPI agrees that Johnson called it a crtical infrastructure.
So the department of homeland might demand certain standards be met. That does not mean that we are forced to a single standard [for all I know it might], but it does infringe on the bedrock of a democratic republic regardless.
