Target Corp. said it will spend $20 million to add a private bathroom to each of its stores by next year, following customer protests over its policy allowing transgender individuals to use whichever restroom corresponds with their gender identity.
Target’s finance chief Cathy Smith said the move is a response to feedback from customers voicing displeasure over the company’s bathroom policy. She added the customer discontent hadn’t had a “material impact” on sales. CEO Brian Cornell had promised to roll out family restrooms earlier this year and defended the company’s stance on diversity.
Protests started at Target stores after the retailer announced in April that it welcomed transgender employees and guests to use the restroom or fitting room that corresponded with their gender identity. “Everyone deserves to feel they belong,” the company wrote on its website.

The dates covered are from April 15 to August 17. On April 19, Target announced its policy of encouraging adult men to inhabit the same bathrooms as little girls.
Since that date, Target's stock is down around 10%, while the Dow is up about 3 or 4%.
There has been an effect.

Yes but they set policies in place that let pedophiles be able to put cameras on their feet so they could view children's genitals and/or make sexual overtures to them by allowing them to walk into any bathroom of their choosing by claiming they had the mentall illness of transgenderism. All pedophiles aren't just males either. The proliferation of porn on the Internet has turned many women into sexual deviants wanting to have sex with very young males.
The best policy is penises go to the Men's restroom; vaginas to the Women's restroom.
Their stock went down $1billion... this is a drop in a bucket to try to repair it. (but I’m betting it won’t)

This and also that we once-and-former Target shoppers have now found alternatives (there are many options), and we have formed new consumption habits.
Target has nothing that I want or need that I can't find elsewhere (and do not feel insulted by a special 20MM$ bathroom.)
Instead of just going back to a rational policy of some kind, they spend $20 million they didn’t have to - I bet their stockholders just love this “management” team.

Exactly. Bathrooms are about PLUMBING. Nothing else.
Won’t solve the problem.
The Transgenders will be insulted if they are required to use the new “other” Bathroom.
The issue is one sided anyway. A Woman who decides she is a Man and doesn’t look the part may be questioned by real Men while in the Men’s Restroom or just laughed out of there.
A Man who decides he is a Woman and doesn’t look the part may be met with fear and loathing accompanied by screams from real Women using the Women’s Restroom.
In that case, the Woman’s Male partner who is within ear shot of the melee may not wait to question or laugh and might take appropriate action against the “invader”.
This will be especially true if the Woman is the Restroom happens to be his Daughter. The younger the Daughter, the more harm may come to the Cross Dresser.
They can change the Rules, but they can’t change Human Behavior when it comes to Males protecting Children, Spouses and the other members of the Fairer Sex.
It would be great if TRUMP brought up restroom confusion and COMMON SENSE dropping in the TARGET name

At least Donald Trump has the sense to know that adult men and little girls should go potty in different rooms. There truly is no wisdom on the left.
