A twisted Arkansas couple who zip-tied their 4-year-old daughter to her bed verbally abused her so relentlessly that the tot believed her name was idiot, police said.
Jennifer Denen, 30, and her 47-year-old boyfriend, Clarence Reed, were arrested Friday after officers found Denens daughter covered in bruises and dried blood.
Officers said the pair used zip ties to strap the girl to her bed a cruel punishment for climbing on the kitchen cabinets, Ozarks First reported.
Police were called to the couples Hot Springs home on a child abuse tip from the Department of Human Services. When cops arrived, the girl had a black eye, a swollen face, dried blood on her head and ligature marks from being tied up.
One cop asked the girl her name.
Idiot, she responded.
Another child explained that Denen and Reed called the 4-year-old idiot instead of using her name, according to police records.
The girl was placed in protective custody. Denen and Reed were charged with domestic battery, permitting abuse of a minor and endangering welfare of a minor.
Seem to hold true. Disturbing that these fiends get a perverted enjoyment from their destructive and sadistic behavior. It’s that enjoyment that keeps these poor kids alive for as long as they have.
I have an Italian mom. I thought my name was “Idiot” for the first 34 years of my life.
Sad story.
I was called a maggot, among other things for 8 weeks of my life one time.

Why didn’t the Dept. of Human Services step in immediately, rather than just tip off the police?
My guess: the (probably female) DHS agent was afraid the boyfriend would become violent.
You are darn right, only the weak, of will & mind, would use ANYTHING as an excuse to abuse their children.
As far back as I can remember, I knew that I would never, make someone endure what I did. I made the choice to be my own man over 40 years ago.
There are times when the rage makes it so that I can't think straight. I look at my left arm, the scars, and remember; the hot metal, the stench of my skin burning and the sizzle, silence, repeat.
I wasn't even 5 yet but I didn't break then and I won't now.
NEVER a reason, NEVER an excuse.
Ah, the benefits of diversity.....
/ rant. I apologize to anyone who may be offended by my post. too much too close to home
Stake these 2 masquerading as humans out on the prairie, and then stampede a herd of bison over them. What’s left will provide some nutrition for scavengers. Then at last, they might have some use.
I think the real idiot is the Mom for tying onto that boy friend. Most of the time that kind of match is very bad.
I was “mistake #1”. My little brother was “mistake #2”. No zip ties though.
It would be better for them that a mill stone be hanged around their necks and they would be thrown into the sea.
Way too humane for me. Im thinking no millstone and shark infested water.
I think you should ad some chum in also
Poor girl. I wish she was near me so I could do justice for her.
I’m reading an interesting book, found it in the church library and hoped it would help me understand my mother in law better. “Breaking Down The Wall of Silence “ by Alice Miller.
Her theory is that abuse follows the generations when the abused are pushed to suppress memories or just “get over it”. According to her, your facing the horrific memories is what is breaking the cycle.
May God bless you each and every day, I’m so sorry you were made to suffer.
This little girl is so messed up. Her hope for a normal life is very slim. I pray that she ends up with some wonderful adoptive parents. They will have a hard time of it.
do you judge them neutrally and their actions as the sin?..
should we have prayed for Hitler while he killed millions and drove thru Europe?..
I believe God expects us to put down evil and I believe God expects us to go to any ends to protect innocent children...
the parents can go to jail and maybe they'll find the Lord and the righteous life..good for them...but that is in their court........
in the meantime, one little girl will have a decent life.....
I have no sympathy for such brutes as this supposed "mom and dad"....
You miss the whole Christian idea of not judging. Of course we are to judge actions as evil. Of course we can defend ourselves against it and must defend others event to the point of killing them if necessary. And on and on.
I am so very sorry for what you suffered.
May God watch over you and keep you.
I read stories like these about little ones being abused,
and wonder how it is that monsters like these,
and the ones that made YOU suffer could have children,
when I who always wanted them never could.
They would have been cherished.
Life just doesn’t make sense sometimes.
Where I come from you can say that again though some here on this forum applaud such unions as outreach
