A twisted Arkansas couple who zip-tied their 4-year-old daughter to her bed verbally abused her so relentlessly that the tot believed her name was idiot, police said.
Jennifer Denen, 30, and her 47-year-old boyfriend, Clarence Reed, were arrested Friday after officers found Denens daughter covered in bruises and dried blood.
Officers said the pair used zip ties to strap the girl to her bed a cruel punishment for climbing on the kitchen cabinets, Ozarks First reported.
Police were called to the couples Hot Springs home on a child abuse tip from the Department of Human Services. When cops arrived, the girl had a black eye, a swollen face, dried blood on her head and ligature marks from being tied up.
One cop asked the girl her name.
Idiot, she responded.
Another child explained that Denen and Reed called the 4-year-old idiot instead of using her name, according to police records.
The girl was placed in protective custody. Denen and Reed were charged with domestic battery, permitting abuse of a minor and endangering welfare of a minor.
The bible says it is folly to pine for the “better” old days. We forget that every age has its own failings, its own successes.
It is the situations that most tempt us to forget God’s universal council to as much kindness as is useful, that are the ones that are important to remember God in. Don’t give us guff about a “balance between justice and mercy” — God worked the balance almost ludicrously towards mercy for us by suffering on the Cross, and also by delaying hell to eternity. Our challenge is to see how that can be worked to good in humanity.
Get out a bible and read the last verse of the Old Testament. What does it call for? Riiiiiight.
The optimal result would be for both the girl AND the parents to realize the truth of Ephesians 6 — this was demon driven behavior, and uniting against Satan is the actual solution.
Thanks. We all need a reminder of that. So easily do we judge people instead of their bad behavior.
Named after both, obviously.
Summary execution.
Thank you
A child is most in danger from Mommy's boyfriend, when the child is another man's kid.
How about both?
She has blonde hair. What a shock. /s
Some people just need killing.............Slingblade........
No doubt heavy drug users. I hope they get the help they need (actually I hope they get their asses kicked in prison... daily)
One wonders at the incredible restraint shown by the cop who asked that little girl her name. After hearing that, I know I’d be strongly tempted to provide a little wall-to-wall counseling, or perhaps a “hickory shampoo”, to those two adults. It’d be very close to the (apocryphal) result received by the guy who stabbed a Marine collecting for “Toys for Tots”:
“...The subject was also transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw...injuries he sustained when he slipped and fell off of the curb...”
I should point out that I am NOT endorsing police brutality, nor do I think that most cops would do such a thing.
In nearly every abuse story there is always a mom and a “boyfriend”.
Poor kid- those two need a beatin’ they won’t forget.
The death penalty is too good for these vermin.
Got rope?
How is that before I even clicked the link to see the parents’ pictures that I knew they were a black guy/fat white women combo?
What could possibly go wrong? The most dangerous creature on earth for a child is mama’s boyfriend.
Maybe they can get a seat behind Hillary at her next rally?
This is so sad.
I am a grown man and in my sixties, yet here I am with tears rolling down my face.
Those parents are pathetic.
You need a license to own a dog yet people like those monsters are allowed reproduce.
