The late, great Father Ted Hesburgh used to tell incoming students, "Come to Notre Dame and lose your faith." Many would be confused by that line, given that Notre Dame is a Catholic university, but the point Father Ted was making was that faith is more than a list of ideas or concepts and that it needs to be challenged by rigorous thinking and translated into action. All talk and no action does not make for a faithful Christian, and that's why Donald Trump's condescending words to an evangelical audience in Orlando took my breath away.

Yep, you want a good Christian (even teaches Sunday School to this day), then pick Jimmy Carter.
Not one Christian thing about her or the people who trained her.
Sally Vance-Trembath wants Hitlery elected because Hitlery thinks like she does and will help her and those like her put more rules on you that they can leach off of.
THAT IS EXACTLY what the Jesuits train people to do. Put people in bondage so they can rip you off.
Great rant!
The worse part of the "rip-off" is the rip-off of the soul. Secondly, the media is using Vance-Trembath and her supposed "Christian" expertise to define a Donald Trump whose heart she know nothing of as well as a Christianity we've already determined is counterfeit.
So here a pro-Jesuit "lecturer" like a Vance-Trembath -- who is already embedded in the theology dept of a University -- is actively advancing the Left and Elites' pro-Hillary, pro-illegal invasion position and subversion (as you so adeptly pointed out). In this case, it's strictly to support Hillary by discrediting Donald Trump in the eyes of certain sects of Christendom.
We'd both like to hear faux-Christian Vance-Trembath's critique of Hillary Clinton's depth "Christian-growth", but we know that critique isn't forthcoming. EVER.
This woman and Jesuits (like Pope Francis) are the Black Ops of anti-Christ Marxists (only in costume.)
Their mission is achieved via deception, subterfuge; they are political and subversive -- NOT remotely "soul-saving," and not remotely "Christ-like."
No Christian group has been attempting to "sanctify" Donald Trump. Where has that the meme come from? It's quite enough that the man openly advocates an America where Christians are respected and un-targeted by an almighty anti-Christian govt apparatus.
What IS "explicable" is the Left and Media using whatever tools and power of suggestion at their disposal to help reduce Trump's support -- even if it means questioning his Christian "bonafides."
I'd LOVE to see and hear Hillary's public Christian bonfides and testimony. On that day there will be thunder and lightning and earthquakes in DC.
More concern trolling, artichokegrower?
Condescending? What a total idiot! I listened to his talk with the Pastors & Pews attendees. I thought it was so sincere AND what really struck me was how Trumpian Trump was - he was very calm but very real - brutally honest with them - touching the ‘third rail’ of pastors vs IRS and how they have really accepted as unchangable the 501.3c IRS Johnson Ammendment silencing of their mouths. To me it was very personal - he was visibly touched and amazed on why his friends in the religious communities - leaders - had stayed silent for too long.
Go and listen to it for yourselves. You’ll see what I mean. It was basically telling them to wake up - don’t accept the schackles - shake them off. There’s a better day coming on Nov 8th - let’s make it happen! You guys will be free once again.
Btw, this coincides with an audio of a retired fireman’s testimony of a prophetic word that he felt the Lord gave him about Trump back in 2011 - that he’d be used to open up the Churches once again in America to be free and open to spread the Gospel like never before, before Christ’s return.
Paul would disagree with you.
First Corinthians chapter three and Hebrews chapter five.
You are correct in that you either are a Christian or you are not but Christians are expected to grow and mature.
I also do not classify Trump as a baby Christian as he shows a very mature Christian charity.
Does he have faults and failings? Of course. Point out any Christian who does not. But he does seem to be working on them.
I’m Catholic and the Catholic church does not teach that Protestants aren’t going to heaven.
Believe me -- we don't blame the Pope or RC's for that kind of stuff.
Try explaining that to Ted Cruz's die-hard supporters. They'll settle for no less than Elmer Gantry as their President.
Protestants have a very skewed understanding of Catholic doctrine. The Catholic church in no way, shape or form believes or teaches that Protestants are not Christians. Or that Protestants will not go to heaven. Its simply not so. Hey Pope Francis thinks your dog Muffy is going to heaven so not to worry. :-)
Someone has severely misinformed you.
Pope John Paul I, in a general audience on September 13, 1978:
"It is not possible to say: I believe in Jesus, I accept Jesus, but I do not accept the [Roman Catholic] Church. When the poor Pope, when the bishops, the priests, propose the doctrine, they are merely helping Christ. It is not our doctrine; it is Christs [where in Scripture??]: we must merely guard it and present it."
Moreover, Pope Paul had promulgated a whole new doctrine: Mary is the Mother of the Church.
As to our destination when checking out of this mortal coil, The Vatican doesn't believe Protestants OR even RCCs are going to Heaven (immediately, anyway.)
Most RCCs won't/don't/can't dig deep enough to understand or deconstruct its own liturgical maze which has been confusing by design.
On a lighter note -- Pope Francis' idea of Doggie Heaven will have Muffy sharing his Eternal Bone with Mitzi, Princess, and Rover. IN the same Doggie House.
;-)
Dave -- you mean the Vatican's own official doctrine is erroneous? That would be news to them.
Just to clarify: I CAN read. AND understand literal sentences, paragraphs -- even CONTEXT.
Can you provide any actual citation of anything? Or are you getting everything from Chick comic books?
Yeah. Volumes 1 through 1,000 of 'The Vatican's Greatest Non-Biblical Doctrines'. IN HARD COVER.
Thought so. You are blessedly assured in your invincible ignorance.
Hey Dave — you’re the one who is compelled to refute Vatican Doctrine, not me. I already know what’s official, and in black & white.
