How many times have Donald Trump's supporters and critics debated whether he will pivot to a larger, more presidential candidacy? Too many to count. So put aside any talk of pivoting the fact is, Trump delivered a focused, powerful, and disciplined speech Tuesday night in West Bend, Wisconsin, about 45 minutes north of Milwaukee. Trump focused largely on problems that disproportionately afflict black Americans, arguing that his proposals on crime, immigration, trade, jobs, education, and other issues will improve African-American lives more than Hillary Clinton's.
Trump began by declaring, "We're at a decisive moment in this election," which few would deny, given Trump's perilous position in the polls. Last week he laid out a jobs plan, Trump said, and on Monday he outlined a plan to defeat radical Islamic terrorism. Now, he came to discuss "how to make our communities safe again."
Calling the recent riots in Milwaukee "an assault on the right of all citizens to live in security and live in peace," Trump won applause with the declaration that "Law and order must be restored."
"The main victims of these riots are law-abiding African-American citizens living in these neighborhoods," Trump continued. "It's their jobs, it's their homes, it's their schools and communities which will suffer the most as a result. There's no compassion in tolerating lawless conduct for anyone."
Trump charged that Clinton and the Obama administration have pushed a "totally false" narrative of widespread police abuse across the United States. "The problem in our poorest communities is not that there are too many police," Trump argued. "The problem is that there are not enough police."
"Those peddling the narrative of cops as a racist force in our society a narrative supported with a nod by my opponent share directly in the responsibility...

Last Sept USAToday posted SurveyUSA results showing Trump with 25% of Black vote. Two weeks ago North Carolina poll showed Trump getting 32% of the Black vote, Don’t you wish people like York would pull their NeverTrump head out of their ash?
I saw something about Trump trying to get dual citizens in Isreal to vote for him a day or two ago. I cannot remember where I saw it.
She is not as popular as Obama had been.
“FWIW, and not getting into details, I am hearing Jews have had it with Obama, and some WILL NOT pull the lever for Shrillary...”
Trump has done a great job for NY City Jews. If he can get that vote, he will win NY.
I hope that you are right.
Just so you know, there only Jews having babies these days are the Orthodox Jews and they are uniformly conservative and vote that way. Reform Jews who are mostly liberal will still be a majority, but only for the next 20 years or so.
You are really a wolf in sheep’s clothing............
so insightful you are...
The difference is the speech was much more focused. Trump isn’t saying anything different he just said it with more words and I believe it was much more effective. There is time for fast food red meat and their is time for a bit higher quality red meat. Trump delivered a gourmet political speech last night and he should continue doing so.
I thought I caught most of the Today show this morning. They never mentioned the speech Trump gave last night.
His last two policy speeches have been spot on. More of this will win him the election. Hillary will be under pressure soon to begin giving her own policy speeches, which will clash with her past actions giving more ammunition for Trump.
Yea, I only wish Trump would have timed the announcement of campaign changes better so his speech would have been seen more today. But it will be a cumulative thing as he releases more policy speeches it begins to slowly push out to the public and the poll numbers will begin to reflect this over the coming weeks.
I think Trump may be able to pick up some black votes with last night's speech, but even if he can't, he's sent a law and order message that will resonate.
Id like to think that Black and Jew vote will change, but I just dont see it. Its ingrained in them somehow...
But I guess it doesnt hurt to try at least...you’re right.
The MSM would have seized on something else, it doesn’t matter.
Trump will have to find another way to get his message through. It will have to be TV ads, both for exposing Hillary and proclaiming his message. Clinton can be exposed by merely showing clips of her various testimonies and news conferences.
I still see people claiming that the MSM gave Trump a soft ride during the primaries. I suppose that accounts for the every Sunday morning news show panel claiming that the clown was finished and hysterical pundits railing against him for the whole primary season.
Your right, citizens of Israel can’t vote in US elections.
It is good to see we both agree on the point of American Jews not being fond of Main Street Americans.
I dont know what it is with them... at least the blacks can say they got free stuff... what do they get??? just screwing everyone else over I guess.
I would say “panders to race hustlers” rather than “condescends to blacks.”
Thomas Sowell calls the Democrats positioning of black populations as treating such a group as a mascot population. Not really in the game or on the team but allowed to dress up cute, be referenced with every showing but never allowed off the sideline.
There is nothing magic about to change.
You’re ignoring early polling that showed that Trump could win more than 15% of the black vote. It’s why the bamster is so engaged, and the blm soros movement is doing its thing.
You’re also ignoring Trump having good, long term relations with black execs and athletes.
His speech last night was great, and it will resonate with the black community because he went straight to the heart of their problems. They will hear it, because he is respected.
I’ve never heard a Republican pull that off before, it was perfectly done.
It’s a speech Trump needed to make months ago.
