Harry Reid's Seat in Nevada Up for Grabs

On election night 2016, the nation’s attention might be focused on Nevada, where Republicans have their most promising, and probably their only realistic, chance to capture a Democratic Senate seat. Harry Reid, Senate minority leader, is retiring, and Republicans’ hopes of retaining their majority might depend on Joe Heck replacing Reid.

He is a strong candidate for his party, as his opponent is for hers. Catherine Cortez Masto is a former two-term state attorney general who won reelection even against the 2010 anti-Democratic wave. She would be the Senate’s first Latina.

Heck, an emergency room physician and a brigadier general in the Army Reserve, is a third-term congressman from the Las Vegas metropolitan area, where 75 percent of Nevada voters live. His district, where he defeated his 2014 Democratic opponent by 24.6 points, is 19 percent Hispanic and 16 percent Asian American.

No doubt the punching bag will pull out all the stops to get kathy mantoes (s)elected by promising the Vegas unions all sorts of things. On the plus side, hairy will be gone and just a stain on the rim. Disgusting little POS would be a compliment. So, I guess I gotta go with Joe.

I surprised Reid didn’t try to arrange that one of his sons just inheirit the seat. The Dems would have probably gone along with it. Oldest son Rory ran for something last year and lost.

Joe Heck is not a win for us if he wins.
He supports “Comprehensively Screwing Americans Out Of Their Country” just like Rubio, Ayotte, Graham, ect, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

Interesting. This seat could determine which party controls the new Senate.

And remember, that if Hillary becomes president, then the Democrats take control of the Senate if the new Senate is a 50-50 tie between Dems and Republicans, due to Tim Kaine as VP being the tie breaking vote.

When Kirk loses, the only difference will be a D instead of an R, since he votes the wrong way nearly all of the time. Trump can probably negotiate better with true Democrats than with the spineless lumps who have squandered the majority while they had it.

Kirk has always been known to be a lib. Ron Johnson in WI is just a big disappointment, another failed “conservative tea party favorite”. Welcome back Russ Feingold.
