According to the Cumberland Times-News, Manchin told town hall attendees that “gun control should be governed by common sense.” He then criticized constitutional carry, suggesting that more criminals will carry, now that the law does not require a permit. Manchin said, “Before, we always knew who we were chasing — the bad guy — but we knew most of the people didn’t have a gun concealed, and if they did, they were responsible. We don’t know that anymore. So I’m for responsible gun control.”

Surely the real men of West Virginia can field someone brighter and more honest and trustworthy than Manchin. Vote him out! He has betrayed his oath of office. What part of “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” does Joe not understand?

Another interpretation of regulated that I think makes all kinds of sense, that I picked up from some FReeper years ago:
The term “regulated” applied to clocks means “accurate in keeping time”. It made sense, particularly in 18th Century armies, to pay a lot of attention to how well soldiers could operate in massed formations. Soldiers had to be drilled to load, aim, and fire as one unit. You do NOT want the rifle next to you to be firing (and emitting a shower of sparks) while you are pouring gunpowder into your musket. Everybody had to do every step together with no screwups

Manchin is a turd that needs to be flushed.
A) Hillary goes down in a political apocalypse for the Rat party. He can step up be the “reasonable” moderate Rat that picks up the pieces and has wide appeal. Or so he thinks!
B) She wins he is the “reasonable” voice that sells us our loss of 2nd Amendment rights (and likely loss of other rights!). His “stock” thus rises in the Rat party. So he is a potential “player” next election cycle.
I think if he still wants a “political career” only A) makes sense for him. If it's B) Hillary and the “hard core” left will just shove him into a corner and mark him irrelevant. A hick relic of the “bad old days”. He clearly is too stupid to realize that.
If he actually wants a "political" future he ought to form “Democrats for Trump”, but he won't.
“well regulated”- at the time - meant in good working order. Only a gullible public - and boy aren’t we ever - would come to believe that our founding fathers would define a “right” not to be “infringed” and then suggest that the government is supposed to highly control it. You know, we get what we deserve.

That’s a damn good idea, but how could we go about actually getting it done? A recall petition? Not sure.
Since I live near Cumberland, before the next election I intend to leaflet WV vehicles with the many reasons this joker should be booted out of office.
He is another leftist trying to masquerade as something he is not - a man of the people.
