Wow! If I lived there, I'd be in hog heaven.
The only decent Italian restaurant near my home is Fratellino's in Brea, where I used to take my mother every week, and there are a couple good ones in downtown Whittier. But with some notable exceptions such as Vince's in Ontario, Andre's in LA, across the street from Farmer's Market, Patsy D'Amore's Pizzeria inside Farmer's Market, owned by the family that ran the legendary Villa Capri in Hollywood in the 1950s, the Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock and Pasta Roma down by USC, good Italian food is hard to find out here.
Not that hard!! You ran off five places that sound really good!
I remember someone else mentioning Vince’s, I think.
yeah, I’m not exaggerating about the 20 within a mile. Maybe a mile and a half.
Some grandmas are still around in there, but the sons do the pizza making nowadays.
The best thing that happened to Mexico from the illegals flooding here is that mexicans learned from the sons AND the grandmothers how to make pizza.
Mexico will have some of the best pizzerias in the world!
Ate at Monte’s brooklyn restaurant where Capone used to eat.
Uncle is well respected in the neighborhood, so to my surprise they tore up the bill.
Food’s not that good anymore though.
