I apologize for not providing a link - the source will not allow it. But I urge you to search for and read an article by Jeffery Toobin in the New Yorker Magazine called "The Showman", published in May 2016. It is about United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara
It is a very interesting profile: He worked for Schumer, is pals with Comey, and has taken down many corrupt officials.
But if you take the time to read the whole thing, you'll get a fairly good feeling about the chances of something being made to stick to the Clinton Foundation.
It's possible that Comey was so pissed he had to let Hillary skate on the emails that he tapped someone he knew would take care of the situation.
Expect to see Jeffery Toobin being interviewed a lot about this profile article. (I can't stand the guy personally, and I bet he is crapping himself to learn that this guy is peering in on his pal HRC.)
If someone knows how to sneak in a link without getting us in trouble, have at it.
Just a thought but could this be an investigation that finds nothing wrong and lets the Clinton’s off the hook? All this would have be done before Trump assumed office. On the other hand I would hope this is the real deal.

They are registered as a tax exempt, non-profit ‘Charity’ not the most connected money-raking Lobbying Firm in the world. The buzz is the C/F got IRS’ okay to raise funds for the Arkansas Clinton Library....not as a global “do-good.”
Wall Street whistleblower Charles Ortel quoted a former managing director of Dillon, Read & Co thusly: “under New York law, tax authorities dont have to show criminal intent to get convictions against foundation officials.”
THE MONEY QUOTE: Authorities need only show that the Clinton Foundation filed materially misleading financial information but kept on fundraising for a myriad of do-good projects.
POSTER’S NOTE The legal culpability of a tax-free “charity” consists of:

So if the Clinton Foundation raised money using the US mails and cited a specific “do-good cause” but used the donated money elsewhere, that is considered mail/electronic fraud.

Earlier, Ortel found irregularities of a sufficient magnitude that the Clinton Foundation should be shut down.
Ortel: if any of the 50 state attorneys general present the evidence to a federal district judge, an injunction would be ordered, shutting down the Clinton Foundation and placing the organization in receivership.

This is a day late and a dollar short. Nothing will be done before she steals the election. The only thing that will stop her is a massive turnout for Trump on election day, but I’m not even sure if that will be enough.
You think? This will be a clean up, not an investigation. Unfortunately a lot of people die die during a Clinton clean up.

Hillary has quite a trophy room of “straight shooters.”
But this time it will be different. Trust us.

Well, as long as he comes out and follows the trend by saying the Clinton Crime Family, including Ma Clintoon, are a bunch of bottom feeding criminals and crooks that you better not cross or you’ll be pushin’ up daisies, I guess it will be okay if he says that they can’t be indicted because they aren’t very sophisticated and don’t steal money from other people intentionally at the end of his spiel.
I’m cynical in the extreme about this. I think the purpose of this investigation is to shield Hillary from uncomfortable lines of inquiry. The investigation exists only so that Clinton and surrugates can deflect any questions with “I can’t speak to that. There’s an ongoing investigation and it would be inappropriate for me to comment at this time.”
The investigation, such as it is, will:
- if Hillary wins, find no wrongdoing
- if Trump wins, be found to have produced no work product at all; in fact, records will have been destroyed - accidentally.
I sat in a doctor’s office and read Toobin’s hit piece on Antonin Scalia. This supposedly brilliant man reasoned like a petulant child. He insulted Scalia and his memory with breathtaking stupidity. He was deeply offended that Justice Scalia would dare to actually use the law and read the constitution when he made all those hateful decisions. As Bugs Bunny would say “What a maroon”. Ambulance chasers are insulted to have him included in their ranks.
