This is what Obama did to Jack Ryan in Illinois. This is how Obama won his US Senate seat. He got a ‘friendly’ lawyer to unseal Jack Ryan’s sealed divorce records. Ryan’s wife, the actress Jeri Ryan, had testified that he had tried to persuade her to go to a club to watch other people having sex. After the records were unsealed and made public, Jeri Ryan was asked if the allegations were true, and she said ‘you say a lot of things when you are trying to get custody of your children’. The Republicans in Illinois forced Ryan to drop out of the race because of this info and the rest of the story is our sad, destructive history since then. This is sleazy, but SOP for Democrats. And I will bet that they can find a ‘friendly’ judge to open those records. How low many in this country have sunk to help the Democrats gain/retain power.
The thing is that the old rules don’t work on Trump. He won’t drop out like most loser republicans. He embraces the fight, and usually wins - often even when he shouldn’t.
Frankly, I think if this information is shared with the public it will only make him stronger.
It's also how he got his state senate seat in Illinois. The real election in cities like Chicago is the democrat primary as whoever wins that will almost certainly walk into office after easily beating any republican. So to get in all Obama needed to do was win a primary. And to do it he got his opponent in the democrat primary disqualified by a judge.
This guy never won a fair election before he ran for President. Then his opponent McCain endorsed him and let him skate right in, virtually unopposed. One might argue that the only fight he ever got was against Romney and even that came down to the idiotic strategy of praising Obama by using the theme "Obama's a great guy, we all love him! We just wish he would retire". Some opposition!
Same thing happened here in CO for a governors race about 10 years ago.
I’ve forgotten the details, but it was the Dems who forced an unsealing of the records even after both the husband and ex-wife protested.
Cost the Republican the race.
