Donald Trump Explains His Obama-Founded-ISIS Claim as ‘Sarcasm’
New York Times ^ | 08-12-2016 | ALAN RAPPEPORT

Donald J. Trump tried to quash the latest controversy engulfing his campaign, suggesting on Friday that he was not serious when he said that President Obama and Hillary Clinton were the “founders” of the Islamic State terrorist group.

After making the suggestion at a rally on Wednesday night, Mr. Trump doubled-down on the assertion on Thursday, insisting in multiple interviews that he really did mean it when he said that the president and Mrs. Clinton were responsible for ISIS. But in an early-morning Twitter post, Mr. Trump said that he was just being sarcastic.

Obama is so cavalier about the carnage he has created. The carnage of tens of thousands of soldiers. the carnage of hundreds of thousands of civilians. He has gotten hundreds of thousands butchered, tortured and killed. This is very, very bad karma.

Instead of claiming sarcasm He should quote some of the facts proving his point. There’s plenty out there.

Does he have a research staff?
Do they give him the info?
Does he accept it?

The Tweet: "Ratings challenged @CNN reports so seriously that I call President Obama (and Clinton) "the founder" of ISIS, & MVP. THEY DON'T GET SARCASM?" was OK, but hardly a full throated attack.

It should have been far more inclusive (ALL the media, not just CNN), and far more cynical. A "full throated attack" would likely cut back on the lies that he "backtracked".

I agree, all this back and forth is beginning to look silly... we need to win the independents to our side. Not Hellerys...

I agree with you that ‘sarcasm’ isn’t exactly the right word here.

Has anyone noticed how Trump changed the topic of conversation among the MSM from, “Trump is inciting violence against Hillary” to “Trump says Obama and Hillary are cofounders of ISIS”?
Trump is in absolute control of the media, especially the NYT, Washington Post and LA Times.

This is hilarious. It’s just further proof that the media is nothing more than the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party. Look how fast the Slimes took to call this a “controversy” yet Hillary is swimming in an ocean of corruption, but “nothing to see here” for those hard hitting investigative reporters at the Slimes. I wonder if Trump laughs to himself how easy it is for him to run rings around this idiot media of ours. Now he has the media, the Dems, the hand wringers on our side, and the RINOS all bent out of shape again. Meanwhile, the American voter is seeing all this and some are thinking maybe Trump has a point. Exactly the reason he put that out there.

How, exactly, does one “found” a terrorist organization?

Is there paperwork involved?
Do you need to form a 501c organization with the IRS?
Are there certain rules one needs to follow in order to legitimately claim to be a “founder” of a terrorist organization?

In the absence of these formal rules, would it be reasonable to say that the founder was the primary decision maker in removing the main obstacles to the group’s founding (U.S. troops in Iraq) AND providing the necessary startup capital and equipment (funding and arming the Syrian rebels)?

He was exactly right. Don’t know why he mentions sarcasm now. He was certainly not the first to call Obama and Clinton founding members of ISIS. Giuliani, Gingrich and Ollie North have been saying it for months, with very specific reasons why they are founders of ISIS. Hillary Clinton will use this latest “backtrack” from Trump to say he’s childish and immature and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near to the White House. Why he does this to himself I’ll never know. The story should be the Clinton’s emails, the State Dept and Clinton Foundation and CENTCOM cooking the numbers for Obama and Clinton. But the media is talking about this BS from Trump and the issues never get mentioned.

Yes. Just attempt to register with the IRS as a conservative PAC, and you will be put on the Barky Administration's Terror Watch List.

If, on the other hand, you are a bunch of Islamists, just contact the Clinton Globular Initiative, otherwise known by its code-name, "Hydra."

Ask for Medusa, and tell her you'd like to make a considerable donation (suggested minimum: $250,000 in small unmarked bills).

The media is starving for new stories to push the old stories that don’t fit their narrative out of the news cycle and Trump is spoon feeding them his narrative, he is well inside their Onda loop.

BRILLIANT!

There is far too much truth in this allegation to dismiss it out of hand. Muslim Brotherhood was the organization that first extended the franchise to al-Qaeda, then to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) as part of its drive to replace semi-secular states of the Middle East with Islamic Shari’ah law states. Highly successful in Libya, and at first successful in Egypt (a conquest that was reversed by actions of the autonomous Egyptian army), the developing wave was turned to Syria, a state under siege by internal clashes between various factions of Muslims. First proclaimed as a “popular” uprising against Bashar al-Assad, the government has proved quite resilient in turning back the “rebel” forces, with massive assistance from Russia and surprisingly, Iran.

By lining up on the side AGAINST Assad, the Current Regime in Washington has made a de-facto alliance with ISIS, and in the abortive attempts to arm the “rebels”, both with training and with material, virtually all of it was funneled into the hands of ISIS, a ruthless player on the field that was as much at war with the “rebel” groups as the Assad regime, which rebels were supposedly supported by the Current Regime here in the US. Attempting to try to crush ISIS would have the peculiar effect of switching to support of Assad, a position the Current Regime has declared themselves to be adamantly against. Now Turkey has entered the fray, as a much more open ally of ISIS, acting as their agent for resupply and simultaneously restraining the Kurds, which is, man for man, much the strongest force on the ground that is carrying the fight TO ISIS.

Turkey is also keeping much of US air strike power tied up at Incirlik air base, by devastating the Turkish army contingent on that base, and keeping the US Air Force virtually grounded, unable to even carry out the “pinprick” harassment of ISIS operations.

Even Viet Nam never became this much of a quagmire. There, we were at least superficially supporting one side against the other, not propping what was supposed to be a declared enemy.

And I charge that the Current Regime is and has for some time now, been clandestinely supporting the efforts of ISIS, including importing their fifth column of agents both into this country and Europe, by letting in large numbers of “refugees” from Syria, which contained an undetermined number of active members of the ISIS fighting force.

None dare call it treason.
