Stocks closed higher Thursday, with the three major indexes closing at new record highs, amid sharp gains in oil prices and strong quarterly results from retailers.
"I think there are two main drivers here. One of them is oil," said Mariann Montagne, senior investment analyst at Gradient Investments. "The other part is this retail rally."
Thursday also marked the first time since 1999 the Dow, S&P and the Nasdaq posted record closing highs on the same day, according to Bespoke.

That has to be the stuff that is chasing around in these Wall Street circles. “Average America” is getting leaner and leaner.

When the bubble pops this time, its going to be epic.
When this thing finally fails, its gonna be on a spectacular level.
I remember sitting in my truck listening to the radio during the last massive
decline. It was scary.

When the bubble pops this time, its going to be epic. I used to think that, but not any more. Its just going to be more QE if necessary, helicopter money, and low rates for decade(s) to come. We've already divorced our situation from reality and fundamental economics, so its rather a political and social issue now.
Instead, think of Japan over the last 25 years. A long, slow grind down, vs. a big crash.

With every major retailer, and many medium retailers closing so many stores across the nation, and around the World one has to believe this is the answer to why there might be a bump, but under the guise of Back to School. Therefore I believe it’s BS. Manipulation to make the Obama economy look good in favor of Hillary, and the Democrats.

I tend to agree, if we are lucky. But it will only take one straw to break the camel’s back and then....POP.

They forgot the 3rd. The anticipation of a Trump Economy. FWIW, the Oshkosh Airshow this year was noticeably upbeat. Could it be people realize the 8 years of the reign of error is almost over and the Trump and his policies will unleash locked up capital? Perhaps....

Gird your loins y’all. My customer base is gone. Dried up. And the products I make are not a good sign. Something bad is on the horizon. And it will REALLY hurt if Trump wins. The world elites will make sure to punish Americans for Trump.

Anticipation of a trump win! Pray America wakes
With the media's negative onslaught all-out-war against Trump, I have my doubts about that.
With the corrupt crony capitalism of Wall St these days, I would say it's more of anticipation of a hilLIARy win.
Hopefully with a Trump win, we will have a much healthier Wall St, based more on true capitalism and not the corrupt crony crap that rewards the district of corruption and their cronies.
Amen, I pray everyday that Americans wake up to the mess we now have and help to correct it.
