Tourists are turning their backs on France due to fears of terrorist attacks, with the wealthiest being the most likely not to come, a government minister has said.
It is perhaps inevitable that many of the millions of visitors to France would change their travel plans after repeated terror attacks.
But certain groups of tourists are have been put off more than others
Overall since the start of 2016 the number of nights spent in France by foreign visitors has dropped by 10 percent. And things are not looking too bright for the months to come with travel data company ForwardKeys saying international flight bookings are down by 20 percent for August and September.

Sounds like ‘common sense’ to me.
My mother and some of her friends are going on a Seine cruise in September, Paris to Normandy. They say that at their age, late 70s to early 80s, they can roll the dice and book the discounts!
Duh...

We used to go to Paris every three or four summers...last visit was 2012 and don’t intend to return anytime soon...sadly, our favorite city!
A lady in my Weight Watchers meeting was in Paris last week. She said they had a great time, except that they hadn’t been abroad before and she was disconcerted by the difficulty of finding a bathroom.
If you haven’t made your bucket list trip to Europe, it’s too late now.
It is being conquered by invitation.
The same invitation that Obama and the Felon running for the Presidency are extending.
Not wealthy, but went to Switzerland where Muslim psi is pretty low
wonder if all of our liberal movie stars will be avoiding their houses?
Don’t be silly. Terrorism fears just cut down on the numbers of tacky peons cluttering up the beach.
France is the worst for public bathrooms,we saw a guy just peeing in the middle of the street
Two tours on Viking River Cruises in the past 3 years, but no more. Alas.
That’s not a thing for women, though. She mentioned that why would go into restaurants and buy something just to use the facilities. (She lost weight anyway, because they walked a lot!)
If you havent made your bucket list trip to Europe......

I grew up on a farm, so I know about buckets.
Theyre crude, heavy, awkward, bang against your legs when you walk. They drag you down in the mud.
I dont do bucket lists for that very reason.
I have dreams and desires.
Those dreams and desires lift me up, straining for the sky, instead of pulling me down in the mud.
There are stars up there, beams of light so wistful they carry me away with their hopes.
I have many things on my dream list.
Its light as a feather.
Don’t let the bucket drag you down.
Our last visit (2012) to Paris was a five-week stay! To say the least, it was awesome...but things have certainly changed in a most negative way...
Rome was... Different. Muslim (mostly North African, I'd guess), were prevalent, mostly hawking selfie sticks and other junk. Security in Rome was very visible, with vehicles and soldiers with serious weapons in front of every significant tourist site. Had to go through security and metal detectors everywhere, even at lesser known basilicas.
Rome was in many ways very much like NYC, but with more urine stink (which was really, really awful in 90+ degree heat).
Glad I got to see it, but I don't expect to return to Europe for a very long time, if ever, which is sad (I REALLY wanted to go back to Oktoberfest!).
I would be changing my plans to visit France, and Europe in general, too.
That's good to know.
I spent a semester in France in the mid-80's and even then they had a lot of North African young men walking around in groups, hassling women.
The froglodites are going to find a whole new meaning of “take it in the rear” under their new moslimb slave masters.
