Claremont students refuse to live with whites

A group of students at the Claremont Colleges in search of a roommate insist that the roommate not be white.

Student Karé Ureña (PZ ’18) posted on Facebook that non-white students in need of housing arrangements should reach out to either her or two other students with whom she plans to live in an off-campus house. The post states that “POC [people of color] only” will be considered for this living opportunity. “I don’t want to live with any white folks,” Ureña added.

25 years ago after graduating high school a classmate described how she was paired with a black girl in a private college’s dorm as part of some goofy social experiment; when she threatened to leave (with her tuition) they relented.

I remember in college when professors assigned groups they used the rationale that in the future you wouldn’t pick your co-workers in the future. It was a good point, but I suspect few of us work in jobs with as diverse a workforce as our college classes; in fact, after the first couple of years the classes were primarily white & Asian (as others looked for less-challenging majors - we’d never meet them in the workforce in our field after graduation).

It’s an example of the “Black Inferiority Complex”. They
need to look at VALID Negro examples of GENUINE SUCCESS
in all fields of endeavor AND follow those examples
instead of the so-called rapper “stars” getting zillions
of dollars for NOTHING.

Also, a good start would be in stopping their SHAME toward
the racial term “NEGRO”. It is as good a designation as is

On one hand they revel in their language, culture, and race (which is European).

On the other hand they think that Whites treated “their peeps” as slaves and were conquistadors.

Little do they know that 70% of these little $hits have Caucasian Ancestry in them.

Brilliant example.

I do that exercise all the time. Doing so peels back the facade for people who won’t do it.

It would be fun if there was a college campus you could put that up at, just to see what the reaction would be. I am guessing there would be theater sized safe-spaces, lots of microphones, public speakers, federal officials, etc.

Nope. Technically, white is all colors (all frequencies of light -- like sunlight). Black is defined as the absence of color.

Actually, you're all wrong/correct. It depends on if you're using additive or subtractive color addition.

If you're adding, you would have a situation like shining lights or your computer monitor. The different frequencies of light add together to make mixed colors. Red + Blue + Green = White. In this case, black is the absence of color, and white is full colors.

When it comes to printing or similar stuff, you would use subtractive color addition. In this case, each color you add is removing color reflectivity from the surface. Cyan + Yellow + Magenta = Black. So now white is the absence of color, and black is a mix of all colors. (Side note, usually you see this as CYMK. K is black ink, because in real life the inks used for the other three only add to a dark gray, not actual black. So for printing purposes a forth ink [black] is used for better color in print.)

The fact that true white reflects all colors and true black reflects none is immutable fact, and is not dependent upon whether you’re mixing paint, printing something from your home printer or baking a cake.

Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.

Whites are not a protected class. That law only works in one direction.
