The post-election season has been very, very good for wealth redistribution, raging against income inequality, free stuff for all, conveniently Democrat, and hypocritical – or typical – Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (Evil 1%-Vt.).
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the proud new owner of a summer home in the Champlain Islands, Seven Days has confirmed.
The Burlington resident last week plopped down nearly $600,000 on a lakefront camp in North Hero.
Sanders’ new crib has four bedrooms and 500 feet of Lake Champlain beachfront on the east side of the island — facing Vermont, not New York. The Bern will keep his home in Burlington and use the new camp seasonally.
Sanders also owns a home in high-priced Washington, D.C. Let's see...that means he owns three homes – at least.
Yeah, I was surprised, too.
To paraphrase F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Socialists live very differently from the rest of us, whom they plunder to enrich themselves.

Pffft... shanty!!
Post of the Day.
GOOD JOB
America’s very own Karl Marx gets a new lakeside dacha!
Just in time to upset his starry eyed followers and drive them to vote for Trump or just stay home on election day.
Well Done!
There’s some massive irony here. North Hero is just north of Valcour Island where Benedict Arnold commanded the first American naval fleet. The British won the September 1776 engagements on Lake Champlain, but the Americans gave a fierce fight at Valcour Island. The British had been forced to assemble their fleet at the north end of the lake throughout the summer of 1776,
The battle season was getting late as the first snow began to fall on October 20 and Carleton’s supply line would be difficult to manage in winter, so Carleton decided to withdraw north to winter quarters; Arnold’s plan of delay had succeeded. — the British could not reach the Hudson River in 1776 and split the colonies.
The 1777 British campaign, led by General John Burgoyne, was halted by Continental forces, led with vigor by General Arnold, in the Battles of Saratoga. Burgoyne’s subsequent surrender paved the way for the entry of France into the war as an American ally.
So the commie Sanders is defiling a sacred US battle site that led to our nation’s independence and freedom from British subjugation. The bastard who would subjugate all of us if given half a chance is on hallowed American soil that gave us freedom through the sacrifice of many great Americans fighting on Lake Champlain in ‘76.
I hope commie Sanders rots in hell real soon.
Yeah...just imagine, the scumbag who never held a real job a day in his life, rewarded handsomely for his attempts to destroy America. I spit on him.
Would you post the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote that you paraphrased? I did a search & didn’t find it.
He will be facing some pretty high taxes for all that property, Oh wait, I forgot for a minute who runs the IRS.
He will be tax exempt from ALL taxes courtesy of the Queen of Corruption.
As much as I dislike Sanders, this is a big non story. The money appear to come from the sale of property his wife owned in Maine.
POLITICS BEN BERRY BERRY GOOD TO ME
For real? C’mon!
“The rich are very different from you and me”.
It’s almost a meme unto itself.
Sanders didn’t mean to offend; he will be closer to that socialist paradise to the north (Canada) - Montreal is the closest big city to North Hero.
Definitely.
Didn’t take long for the Clinton Foundation spoils to be put to use!
I wonder when he will build HIS wall
The rich are very different from you and me.
How is that a quote on socialism?
That was the actual quote that the original poster tweaked and made into a comment about socialism.
Don’t shoot the messenger; I just report. You decide.
“Seems like his presidential run was very profitable.”
I’ve heard that candidates keep the unused money raised for a political campaign. True? I don’t know.
He raised the money to pay for this place $27.00 at a time.
Hey Bernie supporters, we are all equal! Just some are more equal than others.
Uh, $600,000 is not very much. This seems like a story in search of a controversy.
